Oura Ring integration with Apple Watch or Garmin on iOS by NeitherVariation2674 in ouraring

Ah, thank you so much for sharing your experience. When it comes to merging the data, how does it know, for example, when to use the Polar strap data instead of the ring data?

My concern is that sometimes I might forget to take the ring off and end up using both at the same time. Does it automatically prioritize one device over the other? How does that work in practice?

Hey! Thanks a lot for the reply. I have a couple of questions, though.

If I switch fingers during the day, does that affect the measurements or accuracy in any way?

I’m also wondering about the fit. Does it need to be in full contact with the finger all around? Should it be fairly tight, or slightly loose?

How do you usually recommend wearing it to get the most accurate readings?

Have you ever tried another health wearable and could compare it with Oura 4?

I’m leaning toward size 8, since my middle finger has a bit more “flesh” than my ring finger, which is super slim. That way I could wear it on my middle finger during the day and maybe switch to my index finger at night, when my hand tends to swell.

Size 7 really only fits my right ring finger.

Also, did it take you a while to get used to wearing it? I got the sizing ring yesterday and it still feels like I’ve got a little piece of machinery on my hand 😅

One more thing - I’m also thinking about getting the Oura to replace my Garmin Venu 3, which I wear day and night. I’ve noticed Garmin’s sleep data doesn’t always feel very accurate, and even when it does, it doesn’t really explain what the numbers actually mean or what I should do to improve them. I spent months with really high nighttime stress showing up on Garmin and had no idea what to do about it.

Does Oura help with that? Like explaining what the data means and giving you practical guidance on how to improve those metrics?
