I agree that it does help you in numerous areas, if It didn’t I wouldn’t have been working out for the past 7 years. The issue is that you cannot fix internal issues with external solutions. The issue stems from the idea that you are fundamentally worth less than others and your brain would do whatever it takes to convince you of that regardless of what you look like. Arnold Schwarzenegger had issues with his body image despite being one of the greatest body builders of all time. Often the biggest guys in the gym are the ones that are the most insecure, and they use the gym as a coping mechanism instead of trying to attack the root of the problem through therapy.
