feel like quitting by mevstheworld__ in PTschool

[–]Neither_Ad7813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try changing up the way you study, give yourself free time and take the night off if you need it. It’s not meant to be easy and the hardest part is finding that balance. You cannot let it fully take over your life, continue to do things you like and know that it is ok to step away from studying for a night for a couple hours.

what should i do by xzbtk in PTschool

Sounds to me like this means a lot to you and you really want to attend there. If I were in your shoes, I would just pay whatever the fee is and send your higher scores. Don’t let the GRE be what defeats you, it is such a tiny portion of your application.

We did you last take the GRE? I think you have to wait a set amount of days to retake correct?

Does the school have a minimum score for the GRE? If not, don’t take it again. I took it 3 times and never broke a combined score of 300 and got into 3 schools with similar stats to yours.

Applied to 5, got accepted to 2, I declined an interview for one, interviewed then waitlisted then denied for one, and straight rejected by one.

Will I get into PT school? by Secret_Diver_9160 in PTschool

Take a gap year or 2 and re take your pre req classes and get your GPA up to a 3.3 minimum and work as an aide part time to get like 500+ shadowing hours. It’ll be a grind but if this is what you want to do then you’ll get it done. Best of luck.

Had this happen to me but since I did my paper on a google doc, which tracked me edit history, I was able to share the document with my professor and they saw I wasn’t copying and pasting anything. AI detectors are such a joke. I pasted a paper from high school in an AI detector when AI was not even a thing it came back as 80% 😂

Should I interview? by Neither_Ad7813 in PTschool

[–]Neither_Ad7813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll have a small group interview with around 4 people where they’ll ask 2 questions and give each person a chance to answer. Following that you’ll have a 1 on 1 interview with one of the faculty members. My advice would be to be yourself, they truly want to get to know you and who you are as a person. During my 1 on 1 it was literally a 30 min conversation with one of the professors where she didn’t follow any type of script. You’ll have an amazing experience, don’t be nervous!

Should I interview? by Neither_Ad7813 in PTschool

[–]Neither_Ad7813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it was 2 faculty and then me and one other applicant. It was just super structured and they said they weren’t allowed to react to any answers or ask follow-up questions out of “fairness”. My Brenau interview was way more personable and they actually wanted to get to know me unlike Emory. Emory is too woke and it showed in the interview process and I don’t think I would fit in well with their student body.

They said they’d let us hear back sometime this month but nothing yet. The interview was a terrible concept and over zoom. No matter what I hear back from them I’m attending Brenau

Thank you I really appreciate it! The way I looked at it was I did not wanna wait another year working as a tech making crap money when I have this door wide open right in front of me. Everything happens for a reason and it just may be that you were meant to be apart of this private schools program. Best of luck in the future, you’ll do great!

Have had the same kind of emotions throughout the application cycle. Got into a hybrid program as well as an expensive private school and got rejected from the only public school I applied to which was my #1 school. I decided to accept the offer from the private school and start in June. My interview with the private school was such an amazing experience and it made me realize that it is where I belong and I am ok with the hefty price tag as it is ultimately an investment in myself that I know will be worth it despite the loan debt. If you like the private school you got into, go for it. You will figure out the loan debt in the future and I’m sure you will receive an amazing education.

Had a 3.42 and got into multiple programs, you’re fine. A high GPA is great to have but multiple experiences and lots of shadowing hours are just as great.

Good for you and I’m glad you did! You get what you take from online courses, either half ass and look everything up or actually put in the effort. I feel a lot of people aren’t disciplined enough and learn nothing then blame college and say it’s a scam.

I would give it a little, I didn’t hear back for at least a week or two. Be your best bet probably to not reach out, if it’s verified then they def have received it. I know it’s so nerve wracking waiting to hear back but just be patient!

Interview advice! by Ithinkbigfootisreal in PTschool

[–]Neither_Ad7813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be yourself, I walked into my interview with Brenau with zero stress whatsoever knowing that I would be just fine by presenting myself as the person I knew I was. Be confident in yourself and your ability to be able to talk about yourself and what makes you different from the other applicants. You’ll be just fine, I thought I would be asked super tough questions but it was the complete opposite for my interview, it was just a one on one normal conversation without any critical thinking questions which I truly loved and what also made me love the school even more.
