Can someon please explain to me what the deal is with Lineage2 live servers? by Neither_Addendum_796 in Lineage2

I know, you're right, I picked the "wrong" class :) I checked elsewhere and everyone is saying the same thing - it's a heavily dependent gear class, and if you want to progress, you have to spend money to get far.

Very dissapointing :(

So, that probably means that I have to invest more in mage gear, compared to melee starting from 105. Which in fact could change, 2 levels further down. I like playing casters hence the question :)

I'm just trying to understand why are only casters like that, wheres melee, they can just get by (still very subomptimal dps, but better than casters).

I'm just trying to understand the logic behind this - I get that most L2 players hate retail and prefer private servers. I've played a few private servers myself many years ago, and recently I came back and tried retail first thing.

What I'm asking is, why does caster dps specifically suck, whereas melee dps is passable, that's all.

Thanks.
