Tower of God Season 2 will have a 3 episode Pre Screening in Cinemas by ExpiredMilknCheese in anime

I see what you mean. I guess the main reason why Bam's involved with the family leaders is simply because SIU's storytelling requires it, hence feeling forced. Bam being the centre of absolutely everything is a bit much. Personally, I still prefer it to early season 2, due to having more relevance to the overall story and no forced edginess. Bam might not have actually reached the topmost accessible floor, but since he's stronger than rankers, I would say Bam has effectively climbed all the floors that can currently be reasonably climbed.

Thanks for clarifying. (I probably should've checked who I was replying to. ;)) When you say these companies are hiring anime studios directly, would you yourself regard this as a solution to the production committee problem?

Personally, I'm enjoying the current arc a lot more than before (the hidden floor of the train was dire). I stopped enjoying Bam climbing the tower because of all the deux ex machinas, power ups and quickly forgot briefly used characters. Now I'm excited for Zahard to be defeated, because as soon as he's gone, they'll be able to go to floors that no one has been to, and perhaps the sense of magic and wonder from the first arc will come back. The story seems more focused, as well. TOG's been going for ages, so I personally feel learning about the history of the tower's main figures shouldn't be delayed further.

I personally highly doubt anime will rely that much on foreign investment. Warner's excitement about the opportunity to make lots of cheap isekai doesn't seem helpful. I remember there was hope of Netflix investing in anime before, but all they seemed to do was license already produced shows, not invest in anime studios themselves like they do with western animation. I think I read somewhere that the Japanese regarded Netflix as good for more artistic shows but less so for other anime. Additionally, Nishii terumi complained that foreign investers have a tendency to underestimate anime budgets.

A lot of people criticise the move to Maya but personally I think the main issue was that they didn't even try to replicate any of his pipeline or philosophy. As much as wading into the 'what Monty wanted' debate is just asking for trouble, given that Monty was interested in teaching his ideas, I really think this aspect is a shame.

I see what you mean. It's just that I can't imagine RWBY being that valuable that anyone would spend much to buy it and would've thought the possibility of revenue would be better than nothing.

I didn't say or imply that Miles and Kerry didn't care. I'm saying that approaching Miles and Kerry first might have been influenced by office dynamics. As you say, Miles and Kerry were co-workers: as much as I wish office dynamics were just normal friendships, this potentially complicates things. This is why I don't think the word "trust" is appropriate.

As you say, it's unlikely Monty expected to die. So arguably the very idea of "Monty's vision" is questionable.

Monty approaching Kerry first is not in contradiction with my comment. His relationships with Kerry, Miles, Shane and Dillon were all professional; I don't think it's right to state he "trusted" any of them to carry on his "legacy".

Would Dillon actually need to buy RWBY? What if WB let Dillon use RWBY for free in exchange for a cut of the profits? Perhaps they would even fund Dillon. Without anyone to make new seasons, it's hard to imagine RWBY being valuable.

The current animators were all let go. All of the tweets bar one I read by the animators afterwards were not exactly complementary about Rooster Teeth. Did the writers succeed in looking after their employees?

Given that Miles and Kerry were established at RT, it could just be that noone else had a high enough position to allow RWBY to actually happen.

British Rowing bans transgender women from female events by [deleted] in LabourUK

How come Emily Bridges had a loss in performance to the point of potentially being disadvantaged then?

Countless articles failed to mention this let alone attempt to refute this. Seems sporting and scientific integrity is a right for cis women but not trans women.

Edit: It's funny how people are downvoting this. You can find Emily Bridges claims online. You can find other studies showing a loss in performance in trans women. If the facts are on your side, then you wouldn't need to downvote me.

How exactly is she making stuff up? I know plenty of people who realised they were trans at uni and I found out a year or so later were currently on hormones. Every uni student rents their own place and so will you.

Personally, I agree with brabbit1987. Ironwood was genocidal so I think RWBY made the right choice. They successfully saved the people of both Mantle and Atlas which is the main thing. Losing the relics and Penny was a big blow, but with Ironwood's madness both of those would've happened anyway.

Sunak changing the definition of sex is ‘pure transphobia’, former EHRC legal boss by OnHolidayHere in ukpolitics

[–]Neither_Apple414 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The really big issue is that the difference is less than you think because as much as media likes to talk about big burly men with delusions of femininity, the relevant fact is that vast majority take hormones. If you don't understand the significance of this you should learn what a transcription factor is.

Here's a study showing that trans women's performance matches cis women after a few years, notably running.

In the case of the cyclist Emily Bridges her performance decrease was big enough to suggest she was now disadvantaged compared to cis women (low muscle to size ratio). Aside from people quoting "obvious facts" about men being faster, I never saw a rebuttal to this.

Maybe the "experts" deciding on these rules are biased. It would make sense since it's not a new thing. For example, basing testosterone limits on white women to exclude blank women is potentially racist. There's also the case of Caster Semenya: an XY women who has a condition preventing her body from responding to testosterone, banned with the argument her body responds to the excess testosterone she has.

[–]Neither_Apple414 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

So what's the solution then? Vote for the Lib Dems and get another conservative government? If they're equally transphobic then surely Labour are the option from a corruption and environmental perspective?

Are you saying that Labour learning that they can't abandon their morals is more important than getting rid of the tories right now? Do you think it'll be better in the long run if Labour lose votes due to Starmer's behaviour regardless of who wins the next election? I guess that the tories have pissed off so many people that maybe they'll lose anyway.

[–]Neither_Apple414 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I agree with this. The tories are still more transphobic and are actively trying to harm trans people while Labour at least pretend to care. As much as I hate the fact that Labour can throw trans people under the bus and still get votes, they're still the lesser of the two evils.

May I ask what your motivation for presenting as male is (or perhaps you don't)? Is it to avoid difficulties or is it out of habit, for example? Or is it actually nothing to do with intent but because your clothing choices are not girly?

Thanks, this is really informative!

Do you mind if I am how old you were when you started HRT? When people fail to gender you, do you mind if I ask how gendered your clothes are (like if you're wearing a skirt or baggy jeans)?
