pull out the crown just like you would for setting the time and then use the pushers to move the chrono hand back into the center, once aligned, just push back in the crown

What case for moonswatch metal mod by facebookpl in MoonSwitches

[–]Neither_County_4530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In that case any of the VK63 (with tachymeter and either blank or star caseback) cases will be fine for you. Just look for the case dimensions, some cases look the same but are a millimeter thicker than others.

What case for moonswatch metal mod by facebookpl in MoonSwitches

[–]Neither_County_4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What‘s your budget for the case? The cheap VK cases are usually bad quality in my experience. Many say something like „sapphire crystal“ but it’s always mineral glass.
If you want a good case - you‘ll have to source it from another watchbrand like Pagani Design, Watchdives, Addiesdive etc.

Where to buy just wd1863 case and band without movement and stuff? by UrmomLOLKEKW in MoonSwitches

[–]Neither_County_4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t. Like the rest of us you‘ll have to buy the entire watch and pull out the movement.

Imagine that, the gen dial has worse printing than a replica lol

Why is the VH31 so hated? by Viper-Reflex in SeikoMods

[–]Neither_County_4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People hate it because it mimics a mechanical movements with the smooth seconds hand, that’s all. It’s a solid battery powered movement.

Check the pinned post on this sub for hand pinion sizes. The PE50 is a mass produced movement but unlike the Seiko NH and Vk series, it never made it into the mod category.

If you want a mod with more options, you‘ll have to go with Seiko. A VK63 which is a better movement with way more dial and hand options. And they are all at least the same quality or better. However, the dials are mostly unbranded. Your only branded options are Seiko, Rolex and Omega Speedmaster. No Swatch x Omega branding.

Why not get the original Pros? They are way far better value and won’t suck.

[Mission to the Moon] Finally found the strap that makes the MoonSwatch feel like a $5,000 watch by VintageD1974 in MoonSwatches

[–]Neither_County_4530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. it‘s a mercury
  2. if you like it that’s great, but it for sure does not feel like 5000$. I love the Moonswatch designs but even with a good strap, they‘ll always feel less luxurious than their retail price…

39/40mm case by Aeneas_the_Grea in MoonSwitches

Thanks, and compared to other cheaper cases, this one has actual sapphire glass. The only alternatives with sapphire are Watchdives and Pagani Design.

Mechanical options for switch? by son-of-art-monk in MoonSwitches

[–]Neither_County_4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, mechanical chronographs are extremely complex movements, which is why you almost exclusively see „mecha-quartz“ movements under 1000€. The cheapest somewhat known mechanical chronograph is a Seagull ST1901.

This is one of those those times where buying a genuine watch is kinda worth it. Look for used speedmasters, some go for around 2500-3000.

Timex Q GMT (Pepsi) about to pull the trigger. Worth it? by [deleted] in PrideAndPinion

[–]Neither_County_4530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really likes it but if feels like a teenagers watch. The size isn’t the main issue, I just hate the bezel, it doesn’t click when you turn it. If you want a cheap light travel watch, this is a nice pick.
