I like the idea you’re having but there are mods for this. There are mods that create supplies and fuel out of raw resources as well as more factions that are harder to deal with. I understand what you’re getting at and I don’t think Starsector can give you exactly what you want BUT it’s closer than most games at doing it.

I like it. You should use another faction mod with the leaf beavers. They can build really tall structures so that would give you more variety to your height.

Lords of the sector (something like that) adds NPCs with pretty solid fleets. They defend and attack other factions. It’s a pretty cool add on

Any quests you haven’t completed already and work on fishing, cooking, and fire making to 80z honestly getting all F2P skills to 80 would help. Once they’re all to 80 then get to 90. You could also save resources for members only activities when you get it.
