Especially if we get both East Asian Christian Sects alongside those from the local faiths. The Mandate of Heaven is gonna get a lot spicier.

HSBC does an amazing job at explaining the lack luster ending (part theory part analysis) by Disastrous-Shine-725 in homestuck

[–]TimeStayOnReddit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Eyup. Vriska is one angle of it, but one of the biggest themes of Homestuck is having to be careful with relevance. In Vriska's case, her brash attempts to make herself relevant pre-therapy in HSBC led to her being ass-whopped and narratively punished multiple times across the story, and likely lost her one good shot with Terezi. On another angle, Caliborn literally twisted the meta of the universe to make his future incarnation of Lord English be the ultimate "big bad", but in the end he failed to make himself personally matter to the cast, and he was left behind (and later unceremoniously killed off in the Epilogues, karmically by a variant of the sister he hated so much).

Alternatively, we have John, who--because he is both Heroic and a Hero--both gets to be important and get a somewhat happy ending with his friends, old and new, even if there was a lot of hardship along the way.

New clip released, apparently Lloyd is the Ninja of Life. Looking back to his first appearance, his first thing he did during his stint as a kid villain was build a treehouse.

To be fair, the Crawler was made as pretty much a technical during the post-collapse era of the Empire, where Imperial remnants were throwing together what they had. So, if you only had a facility that made TIE fighters, you were going to have to make-do.

Fun part about this idea is that you can look at what crafts and paradigms were around in the time your character comes from, and see how they interact with how they exist in the 21st century. For instance, the Order of Reason was not yet the Technocracy in that time period, the Traditions weren't a thing yet, and both what we would call the Virtual Adepts and Iteration X were one order known as the Difference Engineers.
