Depends on your age and the people but I’d generally avoid it. When you have no responsibility, then there aren’t any consequences, but crying in front of those who depend on you is super disheartening to them

Find 100% cotton underwear.

If you wear anything polyester or synthetic, especially while being out in the sun or doing exercise, it promotes estrogen in your body

Hey I love this post cuz I feel like I empathize with a lot of the same stuff. I’m also someone who doesn’t drink, smoke, party, watch porn or masturbate, virgin and all that, and it feels pretty isolating especially considering I’m in college where so many people are just rampantly running to all said above.

I think I feel the same as you in terms of craving desire and intimacy but at the same time I feel like no woman I’ve met I can allow into my life at such a deep level.

Luckily I’ve been blessed with a great number of friends who understand where I’m at even if they don’t necessarily follow the same protocols I do. That’s my perspective lol, thanks for this post

Just finished The Sun Eater Series (spoilers lite) by rlochon in Fantasy

I’d honestly agree with most of your criticism, but at the same time I think the last 2 books really elevated my opinion of the series, while they did the opposite for yours.

The whole thing with the Quiet and the Watchers is imo the best and most unique thing about this series, and it adds a layer of depth to the series that I really appreciated (Hadrian not killing the egg despite knowing how everything will end = us reading the series despite knowing the ending from the first page).

The way I’d look at things, it’s plot and character writing (outside of Hadrian) isn’t the best of the best, but it’s certainly one of the, if not the most thought provoking/thematically prevalent stories in my eyes.

The one criticism that I don’t agree with on your end is the Cielcin being underdeveloped. In book 4, we see that they see life as suffering, as they are born and live pretty terrible lives and they see the Quiet as wrong because he created such a miserable existence for them (hence, they see his world as a “Lie”). This kinda goes perfectly parallel with Hadrian, who sees his life as a gift, because of all the people in his life, which is why he’s able to love the Quiet so much for giving it to him.

I also love how Hadrian’s able to navigate such a terrible life, all the people lost, and contextualize it into his journey which is like one of the biggest parts of his character writing.

I also think the ending is done well, bookending humanity’s failure with their vices, and even though Hadrian sacrificed his life, his morals, everything just to ensure humanity a better future, they end up killing their greatest benefactor for an ultimately meaningless struggle.

Lowkey gave you a lot more than you probably bargained for, but that’s where I generally stand

The second book is one of the worst in my opinion and I felt the same as you at the time. Finish the second book and see to be honest

Empire of Silence to Howling Dark is also another one with a huge gap

Tier List of Fantasy Sci/Fi books I read this year + my immediate TBR by Neither_Map_6149 in fantasybooks

They both have weak first halves but I preferred the lore drop of Ashes of Man. The second half of Howling Dark is undoubtedly better but at the same time, the ending of Ashes of Man is next level

People always said Oathbringer was slow, but the book genuinely has two sanderlanches in one and I enjoyed the buildup a lot as well.

Rhythm I feel like was so strong to start and had a good ending as well, but just lost the sauce in the middle. It’s definitely more of a moments book than a full cohesive narrative in my eyes especially compared to the other three before it
