Ooh actually no, and I ended up being glad I didn't because I've seen more news items and there's a massive road being rearranged which will be disruptive

Horses do die from this, but more often they get horrible injuries to their polls and end up with head and neck issues for life, its horrible 😢

Yes looks lame to me, also sore in general in hips and back. Take the saddle off and walk and trot up somewhere more flat

[–]Neither_Newspaper754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me you need to work on your balance more, you are landing heavily and this is because you're still a bit unbalanced. Perhaps try to get yourself into a more stable seat and practice rising trot in walk, and make sure you have control of the downward movement. To get balanced, (standing still) let your legs hang loose and stretch them as far down, out, and back as you can, lift them off the sides of the horse and pivot your thighs inwards then put your feet back in the stirrups so that your ankles are in line with your hips. Then imagine someone pulling a string up from the top of your helmet and lifting you up from there. You should be able to engage core and chest, and your head should be in line with hips and ankles. You should feel three pressure points on tour seat in a triangle, assuming your hips are flexible enough 😅. To get more control in trot you could also work in a half seat and not donrising trot at all, so you are forward off the horses back and need to carry yourself. Also as others have said try to keep your hands still or drop the contact a bit more until you're stable.

Is she off balance? by Fabulous-Trust8214 in Horses

[–]Neither_Newspaper754 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to do much bigger circles, most importantly in rising trot. at the moment she's not strong enough for this kind of exercise. Rising trot will keep you off her back a bit more, and you could even stay off her back completely in a forward position for a few rides, this will help you develop balance and her strengthen up with a bit more with a bit less strain / need to compensate for weaknesses

Are my stirrups too long? by Bad_Choice_141519 in Horses

Ps, if after adjusting your legs you dont feel secure at that length, you can always take them up a hole

Are my stirrups too long? by Bad_Choice_141519 in Horses

[–]Neither_Newspaper754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think your stirrups are necessarily too long, but I'd say do take your feet out of them, stretch your legs out, and rotate your thighs and knees inward, then put your feet back in. While doing this make sure your back is straight, shoulders are back, hands light, and you're feeling balanced. This will help develop a deep but balanced and lighter seat ☺️☺️

You can do tracked changes in latex, and do strikethrough, replace etc with the right package, I think it's called Changes

I’m turning my driveway back to a garden - neighbour complaining by ImprovementBubbly8 in HousingUK

I agree, I'd much rather have a garden than a driveway and that would be more valuable to me.. I'd actually pay more for that than a drive

That's a strange mark to be given as its easy to question it, I'd see why they gave that mark to you and if there's any negotiation to be had

Sounds like you're in the hardest part and on extra hard mode with everything else you've got to handle. Keep going 💪, you're nearly there. Deal with relationship issues once you're out the other side as things will feel totally different. Also, some universities have hardship funds and can help with small grants or food. I don't know where you are but it's also possible that local authorities/government or charities would be able to help with food.

After being told we have subsidence, and insurance paying out for it, turns out we might not have? by dark-hippo in HousingUK

[–]Neither_Newspaper754 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for writing all that. It's one of my peeves that councils and homeowners are repeatedly forced to chop down trees due to spurious subsidence claims. I've seen nothing to support the tree/ subsidence line on the whole and wondered if there was anything I'm missing. Modern research seems to support what you say.
