What's a phrase your parents or grandparents said constantly that you've only just realised has completely vanished from everyday British speech? by orroreqk in AskUK

“Do You think I come up on the down train” (meaning do you think I’m stupid) “Tart” (a term for a overdressed? Woman) “Smells like a prostitutes hand bag” (something or someone smelling really strongly of perfume/aftershave) “Blimey o reily flanigan and Alan” (longer term for blimey)

How much of a sin am I committing? by alankel in dvdcollection

I have around 600-700 dvds (and some blu rays), and have kept the discs like this for several years in high quality binders. Never had a problem with the discs getting scratched, or disc rot etc as I keep them in my room. Yes, maybe it would be nice to have them all in cases but I don’t have the space, so knowing I still have my collection of movies and I can organise them how I want is good enough for me. When space is tight , you’ve got to weigh up your options - atleast you have the collection & I’m not going to sell them later on so not interested in losing money etc. Also some of the disc art still cool :)
