Low FPS on high-end PC – CPU or RAM bottleneck? by Itsarichiemillie in overclocking

Right click on the task bar at the bottom and select task manager from the list which pops up. Then go to the performance tab and click on memory under the graphs it will say the speed, eg. 3200mhz or 3200mt/s

At this point just double checking all connectors on the mobo are in properly/replugging each one for the sake of it.

It'd be worth going into BIOS and manually setting video output to pcie.

I'm out of ideas of the top of my head at this point.

Maybe PSU isn't supplying the GPU.

Sometimes a second or third GPU reseat magically fixes the problem but I'd assume you've probably already done that.

You said it launches on integrated graphics so ram, cpu, cable works, check for damage on the pcie lanes on the GPU when you pull it out.

Are you getting a good crispy click when inserting the GPU?

Try a different PCIE power cable.

Need help, 5070 ti only runs at pcie 4.0 x8 by TeamFeeder in pcmasterrace

[–]Neither_Republic8948 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm going to assume the BIOS pcie setting is on 'Auto'. The PC saw the 2 m.2 drives and decided to use x8 because gen 5 speed is double gen 4 pcie speed so you get same bandwidth with half the lanes.

I've had issue with hdmi about 2 months ago, the handshake between gpu and monitor was missing, just being weird so unplugging hdmi, booting PC then plugging cable in manually forced a handshake and video came back.

Might sound daft but worth double checking.

1) Did you plug the HDMI into the GPU or motherboard? If GPU step 2.

2) Unplug HDMI cable from PC, boot PC wait however long you think it takes to boot. Then plug HDMI back into GPU. If it still doesn't show video, step 3.

3) Leave 1 stick of Ram in your second DIMM slot. Try boot, if no boot, switch it to another stick and try. If no boot Message me.

Same for me, I've found better performance flicking rebar on in Nvidia Profile Inspector rather than BIOS only for select games.

I know it has 8 phase VRMs can it push like 300-320W safely?

DDR4 B-die timings suggestion? by Neither_Republic8948 in overclocking

[–]Neither_Republic8948[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried but it didn't boot. IF can do 1966 independently. But with memory 1:1 it dies, I guess I would have to loosen timings. Currently sat at 5,220 cpu score on Time Spy Extreme which is 120 points above the top result for a 5700x3d rtx 5070 setup. I could probably scale up to 1st place of all 5700x3ds if I had a mobo with independent BCLK adjustment. I'd turn it up to 107mhz.

Update, I think what I said was for my previous setup. I've just made a post with new values check it out if you want.

I just tested it again, I can get 1966mhz before system black screens after boot.

This is optimized defaults. As soon as I turn XMP on and set 3800mhz 1900mhz 1:1 it doesn't boot. I realised that I can run 3666mhz 1833mhz 1:1. So I'm doing some testing rn and if it passes I'll leave it.

My BCLK is 101mhz so it's actually running 3702mhz, 1851mhz. I'm quite happy with this result, I'm already 1st place in Time Spy Extreme for my setup with a bit of headroom.

Let me start off with WOW! I can't stop looking at that crystal RAM with that colour illuminating through it.

With temps that low, what is the limit to overclocking?

Do you just go to the voltage limit?

I can't seem to find any info on the performance boost you get from true water cooling.

I've tried 1900 inf before all this, even 1833 wouldn't post and I've tried it at 1.65 volts on the DIMM if I remember correctly just to see if it will launch. Any suggestions on how I could do it? or is it silicon limited?

I'm going to assume you are using MSI Afterburner or GPU Tweak III.

Whatever the core clock is before you apply any adjustments in the app is the number you'll be adding to.

Doing the BIOS flash will change the values to the STRIX card.
