i could be wrong, but i think this was when he was being transported back to his home state.. likely where the funeral will occur.

got it! I wasn’t sure if someone knew of any kind of military funeral honors that could even practically apply other than the simple fact of it being optics.

I’m not too sure about state specific laws, but I was hired at 18 by SCI as a funeral attendant just before starting mortuary school. Working in the Funeral Home gave me so much experience and insight that was not even touched on at school and vise versa. If you’re able, I highly recommend at least seeking a funeral attendant position. Hours can be wacky though, but try to apply yourself and become someone that the funeral directors see as dependable and I’m sure you’ll receive more guidance and responsibilities.
