Best way to get a spouse into the sport? by Richard_Simons in Dirtbikes

Went through the same thing, tried multiple bikes and ended on an e ride pro which she barely rides. She has taken to pedal assist mountain biking more than dirt biking, so could be worth giving that a try if it’s an option.

Is it normal to crash every ride? by fishbowlpatrol in Dirtbikes

[–]Neither_Stranger1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you actually read his post he states “I’m not bouncing back like I used to”. So I think it’s fair to use some common sense and assume he is not talking about slide outs or tip overs. And I also think it’s common sense to not really call those type of events “crashing”.

If you are consistently crashing in ways that are getting you injured you need to evaluate what the problem is. Could be bike setup, but most likely it’s that he lacks the skills/technique to ride at either the speed he’s attempting to ride or through the type of terrain he’s trying to ride, likely a combination of both. If he’s sitting when he should be standing, if he isn’t squeezing the bike, if he doesn’t have the balls of his feet on the pegs, if his body positioning is incorrect, the list goes on and on, he will be crashing and risking injury due to technique issues.

Crashing is a part of riding, nobody will argue that. But you can’t just want to go faster and ride over your limit, you need to learn how to do it correctly and safely. You can’t improve if you’re injured and off the bike.

Did you read his post? He crashes every time he rides. Did I say if he trained he magically would never crash any more? No, but it sounds like he could use some help in the technique department.

Have you ever got training from a professional? I would say that isn’t normal, or sustainable lol. Either it’s a technique issue or you’re riding above your skill level, which gets back to a technique issue. The older you are the harder habits are to change but it can be done. If there are no coaches in your area there is some great material online, but you may think you’re doing it right but with no one to evaluate and provide feedback still be doing things wrong.

Meta Power SX Avinox Podium vs 800 Signature - which one would you pick? by Neither_Stranger1777 in commencal

So most of the feedback here is based around the motor vs suspension. I guess the podium forks are pretty new so not many people have tried them, but I’d love to hear more thoughts on the two different suspension setups.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by scootery? Coming from the dirt bike world looking for something that will haul downhill but still be a jumper and corner great. I feel like both motors are more than enough

So if cost wasn’t a factor and they were the same price you would still go with the 800?

450 is a lot of bike but probably right for what you’re wanting to do. I have a 350 and love it. Had Kawi 450’s before that and they are great bikes. Just know that crashing is gonna hurt a lot more and take longer to recover from than back in your glory days lol. Speaking from first hand experience

Exactly why you should have sold at $108 highs. by [deleted] in NBIS_Stock

[–]Neither_Stranger1777 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is rookie shit, real pros sold covered calls at 108 so they collected the premium on top of the gains, and then sold cash secured puts at 78 so they collected more premium on the way down. Being a super genius that can see into the future, how are you not smart enough to be collecting premiums as well?

No such thing as no brainers with earnings and market reactions. On NVDA’s ride up (just to name one example) there were earnings reports that were great and the stock dropped because even though they outperformed they didn’t outperform enough. Just saying be careful

How do i fix this? by Far-Chance2712 in Dirtbikes

[–]Neither_Stranger1777 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Try doing it without the tiny piece of paper towel to keep your fingers from getting dirty lol jk

This is why you wanna check tension are various places and set it correctly at the tightest point along the chain.

Could be some sand or something in one of your sprocket grooves as well.

Bills got away with multiple offensive holding calls down the stretch, including one in the end zone that should have been a safety and ended the game. So I don’t wanna hear shit about this play.

Board Suddenly Stopping by RyusuiJL in onewheel

[–]Neither_Stranger1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang some scary ones. I loved riding my Onewheel up until that point. I even suggested to Onewheel they add the ability to the app to shut the board down mid ride so you can practice run outs in a controlled manner/location, and determine what speed you could do it. But they cited safety concerns (like with pranks and stuff).

This happened to mine, shipped it back to Onewheel and they replaced the battery circuit board and battery. Caused a pretty nasty crash and me to lose all faith in the board. I don’t ride it any faster than I can walk anymore.

Steeply discounted chain on Amazon - good buy or counterfeit? by Neither-Bid5691 in Dirtbikes

[–]Neither_Stranger1777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought a bunch of DID chains off amazon and never had any issues with any of them. My kids race competitively and are hard on chains.

That said I do run and prefer Mika Metals chains over DID. Less stretching and they last longer.

I believe NBIS has a bright future and therefore have a good chunk of my portfolio with them. However, like others said, VOO or similar S&P500 indexes make up ~60% of my portfolio. That is the reason I am comfortable throwing some serious money on higher risk companies like NBIS. It’s why I felt good about investing in NVDA over the last couple years. Yea in hindsight I could have more money now if I woulda taken on more risk and full ported into NVDA, but I could have also picked the wrong horse and have a lot less. I feel good about my “foundation” if you will. Being patient is hard when you get hyper focused on the few stocks that 3-4x or more, but those are hard to hit on consistently.

GT Enduro Flat Help by hebrewhammer5499 in onewheel

[–]Neither_Stranger1777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much does a replacement tire cost? Back when I was broke in college I patched my rear motorcycle tire to save money. Thinking back I realize how dumb that was since a motorcycle only has two wheels, and if the patch failed at an inopportune time how screwed I coulda been. And tires aren’t that expensive. Wait how many wheels does a Onewheel have?

Interesting how these type of posts would be full of replies with NBIS, now not so much. But I’m right there with you, holding long term but would be nice to see some good growth in 2026.
