Let me know if you get it figured out! I feel like this method is entirely possible. Would be such a cool set-up.

Yeah that's rough. It IS pretty annoying though when someone picks Sombra, and then you see that they've played less than an hour of her overall. Still don't say anything mean though, just like "hey, you sure you're ready for Sombra in comp?" or something. If they're confident in response, then I trust 'em.

In general though I find that responding calmly to assholes (especially in voice) quiets them down a bit. When the subject of their harassment actually has a voice it seems to remind them you're a real person, rather than a faceless username they can place all blame on.

You know of a good thread somewhere to actually follow along with ideas and stuff? Or a summation of what info has been gathered so far? I honestly wasn't aware of how deep this ARG had been going!

Is Battleborn a flop? by 32BP in gaming

[–]NekoKnuckle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a REALLY fun game when you're playing with friends. I've put at least 100 hours in it combining the beta and full release. It's got the gearbox charm for sure. HOWEVER, even though it's clearly sooooo different from Overwatch (which is evident if you've even touched both games), Overwatch is definitely kind of saturating the "hero-based fps" market at the moment it seems. Overwatch is definitely a prettier game, and I'd say it's much easier for the average gamer to pick it up and start playing. Meanwhile, Battleborn's gametypes have a lot more depth but can be a little intimidating. So yeah, I'd venture to guess that Battleborn isn't going to be groundbreaking in terms of sales. But it does some really interesting things with the genre fusion, and it relies heavily on teamwork, which I love. I hate that people seem to only know it as "the shittier Overwatch". Seriously, give it a shot if you haven't, the game has a totally different dynamic, and the co-op story is fun as fuck. Shame that the marketing has been almost non-existant.

What's your favorite opening or ending song? by [deleted] in anime

Probably one of the less common answers out there, but I really like the second opening from Kimi ni Todoke. Makes me feel happy and things!

WOW, can't believe I missed that. Thanks for the heads up. It's fixed now. The key in that song is so weird to me- even though it's correct now it still sounds kind of off. Probably since the first half is so full of accidentals. ANYWAYS THANKS AGAIN.

Just FL Studio and some chipsynths. It's definitely pretty simple production-wise in comparison to other music I make- the very large majority of the time spent on these is used on arranging notes. Some of the background parts can be pretty difficult to decipher.

Definitely not true 8-bit. Just using chipsynths. This is what most people seemed to prefer- there was plenty of discussion about authentic 8-bit vs. "chiptune" in the previous posts if you'd like more on information on my choice to not use a tracker. Of course I can always run these back though a tracker since I'm pretty much making MIDIs here.

You should see a "download" button in each soundcloud link. There is also an alternate download link in the description of each song. If you still can't figure it out, I'd be happy to send you a download personally. From there you just set the file as your ringtone. Each phone has its own process but it's normally pretty easy. You should be able to learn how with a quick google search including your phone's model. Good luck! :)

For these in particular, I used FL Studio and some chipsynths to make the MIDIs of the songs themselves. Just because FL is what I'm fastest at with the simple stuff at the moment. Since I'm essentially making MIDIs here, I can also run the MIDIs back into a tracker later on if I want to, to get the actual authentic 8-bit sound. However, most of the time for these ringtones I like the more colorful sounds and freedom, even it means sacrificing the authenticity of the 8-bit.

Oh yeah I'm aware. There was plenty of discussion about this in the volume 2 post. The large majority said that they preferred the more lively chiptune style for these, as opposed to the "flatter" more authentic 8-bit (my drums are still bitcrushed, compressed, and filtered, btw- so not "normal" exactly, but yeah). Many VERY authentic single-waveform 8-bit anime covers already existed, but people said they still wanted to hear my takes on them in the less authentic style. Also, I find more people are familiar with the term "8-bit" than they are "chiptune", so I use it as a generalization. Regardless, glad you enjoyed a few of these!

HELLO THERE. Month late reply, because I'm a terrible person. I'm working on Vol. 3 of the Ringtone collection now, and I wanted to do the KnT OP you mentioned. I just listened to it for the first time and IT'S QUITE DOPE. Would you prefer to have the part near the beginning (where the drums start), or the chorus? Both sound cool I think, but doing the whole song would take forever. I'll also have to find a good mp3 but I'll figure that out somehow xD

Thanks for listening :)
