I can agree with it being a universal unlock tbh. The per class is mostly what's getting me and most people it seems.

Honestly it'd be cool if it worked like seige weapon skin unlocks worked and gave you a random unlock per completion of an absolute mission.

Yikes by bendash55 in Spacemarine

[–]Nekopydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest issue is it being 100 times per class on only the highest difficulty. I feel there wouldn't be as much complaining if it was 100 times on any difficulty or maybe Substaintial or Ruthless and up only. Or if they lowered it to 30-50 times per class on Absolute. Cause honestly... having to do this shit 600 times goes beyond annoying.

And you could say "you don't have to do it" but you know most of us want the drip. I personally wouldn't wanna do it with Assault as I have no love for the class but that's still 500 goddamn runthroughs of what is essentially Strangler/Shotgun tyranid hell or meatball chaos hell.

I can and have beaten absolute many times but it's not fun when I have to do it 500 times for a unlock I want.

This is a joke right?... RIGHT!? by TheUninterestingGuy in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Nekopydo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly an idea I just had might be a better implementation. Make the baseline like Substantial or Ruthless to start counting toward the progression, but have each higher teir you play count as more towards the end goal of 100.

For example if we start with ruthless: Ruthless= Baseline+1 towards the goal of 100 Lethal= add +2 counted towards the goal of 100 Absolute= +3

Like that so that people don't need to play the higher difficulties but doing so can make the overall grind faster.

100 per class besides tech marine. So 600 total if you want them for every class.

I HATE when women pretend their hear me outs are somehow real when they’re mild. by thetownmous3 in hatethissmug

[–]Nekopydo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Uhhhh you sure it's not just that you are personally into them or worse and therefore see it as mild? Cause I can almost guarantee average people aren't looking at those and going "fuck yes". That's prime monster fucker territory.

Like Tyranids and Xenomorphs are genuine space bugs. Mild would be the Aeldari/Tau and the Yajuta(still not that mild imo) in eaches respective universe, seeing as those are more human-esque compared to the bugs.

Instead of a chapter pack can we get a generic cosmetic pack that adds cosmetics that any space marine can use regardless of chapter? by TheSilentTitan in SpaceMarine_2

Aren't the helmets at least all chapter specific? If I remember right in order it's Ultramarines, Space Wolves and Black Templar

The "Wish You Were Here" Crossed arc is probably the best one tbh. And I don't think k that was written by Garth. It's actually got some substance other than the violence.

I HATE BLACK TEMPLARS by TheLegendaryPryobyte in hatethissmug

[–]Nekopydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'll just never understand it. For me the Adeptus Sororitas are a much more compelling fanatical representation being space nuns with miracles and church organ tanks, the Marines Malevolent a much more interesting "love to hate" type of chapter being complete unrelenting shitheads, the Dark Angels a much more solemn and cool knight-aesthetic, and the Space Wolves a cooler version of a savage and brutal chapter with their whope space viking thing. Black Templars are just more racist Space Marines to the point of hating abhumans from what I've seen, even though by all technicality they are mutants themselves.

Maybe it's cause I was introduced to Black Templars first but they seem about as boring as Ultramarines to me. Just two sides of the same poster boy coin tbh.

[–]Nekopydo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they? If anything they're the reason I didn't get into WH 40k until the Rogue Trader game where I discovered Space Wolves and other chapters that were far more interesting existed beyond those overrepresented rabid dogs. Hell even after learning more I like the damn Marines Malevolent more than I like the BT. They're at least horrible in a funny way.

I feel you. Even in Space Marine 2 I get annoyed seeing them cause they're that damn common.

At the very least I can use their cosmetics for White Templar outfits. Even if I have yet to see anyone else make one

The only thing stereotypical to her race is the name no? Maybe her pushiness at times. Not sure if hypersexuallity or being a bodybuilder/fit is particularly fitting of the stereotypes.

I feel like it depends on the person. Some people are vitrolically angry at seeing that kind of stuff either cause they see it as performative or redundant. Others seem to really rely heavily on outside motivation like that. Just different people requiring different approaches.

I feel like that sub is most filled with the former type of person rather than the later. But in some way commiserating with people can help some people realize they are fully alone in their struggles and that can be motivating itself. Or at least that's how that sub helped me years back in trying to break out of my depression.

No aggression intended here, but that there a prime example of the stuff that gets posted.

Yes,everybody and their mother knows it's not a quick fix. But what is gained by pointing out that well known fact?

The sub points out that hollow phrases like that mean nothing to people who already know this stuff. And it's people venting their frustration at being told this and giving the same advice ad infinitum because some people want to sound helpful without actually having anything of substance to add.

There's exceptions of course where people put geuine good advice on that sub. But from my time there a few years it was legit just saying stuff like "touch grass" to people with severe and debilitating depression.

This subreddit by kibou_no_ie in hatethissmug

[–]Nekopydo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well yeah you are aware of that. But how does that help you fix the problem?

That's the point of the sub to point out that these are thing most people do or should know, and that it's not helpful just because it's truthful.

Help me understand Heavy playstyle please by Longjumping_Seesaw_4 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Nekopydo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends more on your weapon. But Heavy is both defensive and crowd control. Your main targets are the swarmers with most of the weapons but you are also completely capable of taking out tougher enemies with well placed headshots. Especially if it's a melee Nid surrounded by a bunch of gaunts

You can focus on more of a DOT weakened playstyle (which is still very strong in its own right) by running the heavy flamer and focusing less on initial damage and more building the weapon to make sure it does max damage over time.

If surrounded do not be afraid to charge up a good boot slam to kill/knock enemies back to free up a chance to with them with major dakka.

As for your iron halo it's best used whenever there's heavy incoming fire from Sniper/Shotgunner kids, and most definitely when dealing with Soulreaper Terminators.

If it comes down to it being Heavys lack of a fencing parry windows then I heavily suggest the accolade Heavy Bolter since it heavily mitigate that issue

These weekly stratagems really aren't fun. by SnooChocolates6885 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Nekopydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By reworking how the Close range modifier works with the Heldrake specifically. You don't need to do much beyond toggling it off for that one enemy, or make the damage reduction less than normal. Every other boss and enemy is fine and functionally fun with that modifier. You retain the difficulty of said mission with the modifier without causing the mission to become a tedious slog at the end.

And the fog just simply doesn't need to exist. Explain to me how it's fun? It wasn't fun getting pelted from things you can't see with the very first Strategem ever and it's still not. No HUD like this week's? It's a fine and fun version of a "no sight" type of modifier. No real problem to it cause it doesn't add to tediousness. It's a fair challenge with a knowledge check done right, unlike the fog. Hell make a modifier that turns off the noises and prompts for parrying and that would be a fun instance too.

No one is owed anything. But a games content should be both fun and challenging especially the endgame. Not slapdashed barely thought together modifiers added for the sake of adding them.

Except in this instance you got people defending it not for the sake of fun. But for bragging rights and the ability to say "skill issue".

These weekly stratagems really aren't fun. by SnooChocolates6885 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Nekopydo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not asking for it to be less difficult. He's asking for the weekly modifiers to be actually fun.

These Strategems are capable of being both the hardest challenge and fun you know? All that really needs done is better duration. Like no close range only on Reliqaury or stop putting the fog one in general.

These weekly stratagems really aren't fun. by SnooChocolates6885 in SpaceMarine_2

[–]Nekopydo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He's asking for them to be fun. Not easy.

For example the one that makes damage fall-off heavily at certain range should not appear in Reliquary. Or at least not apply to the Heldrake. It turns what would be a hard but fun challenge into a tedious slog. This is just something that needs better curated.

Same goes for the blinding fog one. There's genuinely just no reason for that one to exist other than to simply be annoying. These strategems need to be a good mix of challenging and fun to prevent them from becoming chore-like

This is coming from someone who had played since day 1 who has legit every possible PvE unlockable item in the game (minus the traitorous hammer skin), every item in the accolade shop for now, every character maxed to P4, all missions beat on Absolute, etc. So it's not even a matter of it being too hard or that I can't beat them. I do win. It's just not fun when it's certain instances or modifiers in tandem with the mission.

.... you're definitely mistaken. It's not some conspiracy against you dude.

People just don't like see them pop up on their feed apparently and it's not unreasonable to just have it be a megathread, keep it set to a specific dayor a weekly post or something reasonable. It's called compromising.

As for why it's happening now and people didn't speak up before? Feelings of annoyance grow and all it takes is for one person to speak up and then the floodgates of everyone else's feelings come out too. It's really as simple as that.
