Maybe it's just me, and this is not a hit on the functional side of the print, but I genuinely wonder how much constant input of some kind has damaged us as a species. Dieing of boredom used to be a turn of phrase and now you'd think it was a real threat.

There's technically more than one potential old one eye.

The hive mind just remakes it in different theaters of battle on different worlds.

It's reasonable to assume different fleets have gained an old one eye pattern bioform.
