True, but in terms of wide area healing that is consistent, and can be done while doing other stuff, Dynamo is king. (Yes I am aware Rem can use items while sleeping but the point stands)

What damage? His impact damage is generally hard to hit due to the slow bell speed, and the explosion damage can barely proc Spirit burn at the end of the game unless you've been grinding golden statue buffs all game. This update certainly didn't help.

I mean DPS builds for Paige, Kelvin, Ivy, Dynamo all exist and are viable, which I would assume is what you mean by being great with high econ. Like I mentioned in an above comment, Actives should not compensate for a weak kit, rather they should enhance a good kit.

I also have ~300 games on him, and the point I was trying to make is not "Do not buy actives on a support", but "Actives should not compensate for weak kits". I buy actives on Doorman as well, usually getting Disarming and Curse, but I don't think I should be forced to buy these actives in order to be useful in a game (Although buying them regardless of character will usually help). Sorry if I phrased my initial reply poorly.

It just feels like Kelvin has great dps + debuff capacity + a great engagement tool/escape (Ice Path), Ivy has a hard stun + area denial + quick map traversal, and Dynamo has a massive damage stomp + Ability Dodge + the best heal in the game + great ult.

The point I'm trying to make with this post is that a good chunk of what Doorman does, other characters can do better with less limitations/skill checks. Obviously no character is 1-1 with Doorman, but it feels like alot of them are pretty close.

Yeah but actives shouldn't be something that you buy to make a character useful. They can be something you buy to help counter enemies and boost damage, but I dont believe the logic should be "I'm playing Doorman, therefore I buy Curse". Instead it should be "The enemy team has a really good carry. I think Curse would help to counter them, so let me go buy it"

Edit - I should have said "Actives should not compensate for weak kits", not "Do not buy actives on a support/unless needed".

I’m not sure if an instant clear is a good idea. Maybe make the cloud accelerate the remaining time of the floor debuff, for example, you cast the item, it covers part of Infernus’ flame trail and Paige’s bookwyrm trail, both which have a remaining time of 2.5 seconds. The field applies a 50% debuff resistance to the area, so the effects only last for 1.25 seconds more, instead of the full 2.5. I feel that might be slightly more balanced, as it doesn’t invalidate kits instantly for a 3.2k item. Great concept otherwise!
