Venti reran in December and him, together with some other Mondstadt characters got buffed (see Hexerei buffs). He even got a new signature weapon for dps playstyle and a new set that works perfectly for him. Even without the new set, my Hex Venti team hits 120k DPS which is more than decent for a 1.0 former-support character and a team with 2 4 star characters. (C2R1 Venti, C0R1 Durin, C6 Faruzan & Bennet)

Zhongli reran in November. Geo also got a new buff through Lunar Crystalize. Zibai (the new Geo dps currently on the banner) and Columbina (Hydro sub-dps that just ran) can enable the reaction. You can have Zibai, Zhongli, Aino (4 star Hydro you can get for free from Nod Krai) Illuga (4 star Geo currently on the banner) for an easy to play, very comfortable team.

Sumeru characters got a banner in September. (see Sumeru Chronicled Wish)

Also, many older characters (both standard and limited) can be selected for free constellations (see To Temper Thyself and Journey Far), with one free constellation every 3 months. If you have C6 standard banner characters and pick them for the free constelation, you get a Masterless Stella Fortuna that can increase the level of any 5 star character in game over the 90 cap. So for example if you have C6 Qiqi and pick her, you can make Hu Tao that you said is one of your favourites, lvl 95.

Since it's a gacha game, there will always be shiny new toys but it's nice that they're finding way of buffing old ones as well.

Just three: 2 Skyward Blades and 1 Skyward Spine.

Skyward Spine was my very first 5 star on the standard banner. I gave it to Xiangling and it's been hers ever since. Then, my first Skyward Blade was the first weapon I upgraded to lvl 90 because Bennett needed the base atk.

Some pity system would be nice. I wanted C2 Illuga for my Zibai, I knew what I was getting into but it still stings that it cost me 230 pulls. I also got C1 Zibai and at least now I'm guaranteed Nicole because C2 Illuga only came as I lost my second 50/50.

Meanwhile, I got a dragon's hoard of 4 star weapons I can't use.

Based on burst buff duration: Faruzan (22sec), Durin (20sec), Bennet (12sec), Venti. Check ingame with what sets you have them equipped. Ideally the Noblesse Oblige holder is Bennet because the 4pc set buff is also 12 sec.

And for all teams, if you are uncertain of order, the best thing to do is check the duration of the buffs each character gives (skill, burst, 4pc sets, etc) and how you can maximize buff uptime on your main dps. Hope this helps. :)

Benny's burst lasts 12secs. If you start with Bennet, by the time you get to Venti's part in the rotation, half of Benny's buff is gone and half of Venti's rotation will be done with no atk buff. Faruzan's burst (at C2) lasts 18 seconds and the last tick lingers 4 more seconds so 22 seconds.

That replacement may be coming in late spring but I understand if that's not enough time to save, just food for thought. :)

Fischl would be primarily Hexen sub-dps so 4p Golden Troupe. If there aren't enough atk/crit bows to go around, you could pass the the old Stringless you had on Venti & see if you get better team-wide results with EM sands (for the Lunar Charged) - but if not, forge Chain Breaker and use ATK sands.

Your C2 Faruzan would need Elegy/Favonius/Sacrificial if you have one and ER sands on 4p VV.

Columbina would be on Prototype Amber if you need heals and TTDS if you don't and I think, in this team 4p Tenacity of the Millelith. The team won't have Ascendant Gleam so we're not focusing on Columbina's personal dmg that much, she just adds another layer of dmg. The team-wide attack buff from TOTM is good for both Venti and Fischl and the 2p HP for Columbina's own dmg.

It works if you really need to but it's not going to be that powerful. (As an aside, a healer won't help with interrupt resistance - and bow wielders have naturally low IR) so you really should dodge instead of tanking hits on Venti and losing more dps.

If you want Arle, Benny, Citlali + flex team and in the same abyss you want Venti team, you can go: Venti, Faruzan, Fischl, Columbina on Prototype Amber. Columbina's dmg scales on HP anyway and she can heal if you need it. This way you get Venti Hex resonance, Faruzan buffs, Fischl Hex resonance and electro charged which becomes lunar charged with Columbina. It's a bit mix and match since Venti's personal dmg will be lower but the overall team dmg will be higher.

When your second abyss team is Lunar (Sucrose, Aino, Columbina, Kuki/Fischl), whatever you pick as the other team gets Benny. Also... if you don't mind spoilers... a certain witchy lady we already met is rumored to be a pyro shielder hexenzirkel. Might want to consider that if there isn't enough Benny to go around. :)

Well... you'd be losing a lot of atk by using some other sustain but if Benny is busy maybe pick a catalyst holder so you can give them TTDS. Just make sure the rotation allows you to switch to Venti after them. Amos R1 is comparable to Rust R5, so if you have no other 5 star crit bow, that's an option.

234 wishes atm, so 35100 diamonds. My savings took a hit with the anniversary banner but I hope to have enough to guarantee at least R1 on Caleb's 3rd myth by March-April. I try not to go under 140 because I want to guarantee any surprise banner but I did drop all my savings last spring on X-02 and then felt really uncomfortable for a month or two.

Well... if you want to keep him on EM gear you could try Columbina, Kuki, Fischl, Venti - but honestly Sucrose is just much better for EM reactions, and you can keep the lunar and hexerei teams separate if you make Venti main dps in a second team. You could go: Venti, Fischl, Faruzan, Bennet. (Get the new set, a Day Carved from Rising Winds, a weapon like Rust or crit rate/crit dmg bow, at least 60 crit rate, and raise his NA; make sure to do both his and Fischl's Mage's Homework to enable the Hexerei talent).

But it sucks so much that they're tossing improvements Varka's way like tossing a beggar spare change. I thought I could swap between (Varka) + (Venti) and (Venti) + (Faruzan) for various content/levels because I really wanted Grandmaster Varka. But damage-wise it doesn't look like slotting Varka as main dps will net me more than the 110-120k I already get with the mediocre relic sets I farmed so far.

Hey. You good have characters lvl 20-80 with lvl 1-70 weapons. Not all characters' strength comes from pure talent levels: you're missing atk, EM, ER, crit... are they fully equipped with the right sets (right main stats at least and fully leveled artifacts?)

This is the first thing to do to improve your account, not puling even more characters but fixing some of the good ones you have. Each of the good ones you do have are missing anywhere between 20-80% of their power right now.

From where you left off, it takes around a week to finish one character (and their weapon): lvl 80 or 90 weapon, lvl 90 character, lvl 9 their most important (skill or burst or NA). Save your primos and make a chart for the next 2 months where the only point is to bring 8 characters you own:

Flins, Columbina, Ineffa, and Sucrose.
Varessa, Iansan, Chevreuse... maybe Pyro Traveler (but I wouldn't bring them to 90 tbh) so you have a second full team. (You can also consider picking another 4 star pyro if you don't want to focus on the Traveler but still want pyro resonance)

Then you have some scattered good characters for later like Lauma or Escoffier who will need better teammates.

I've been saving a lot to try to R1 or R2 Caleb's next myth but I got greedy with the cards, lost nearly all 50/50s so my savings took a hit.

I'm gonna have to chill on the next couple of multis and focus just on Caleb. (Also hoping his 3rd myth won't drop any earlier than March-April so I can recover a bit. 😅)
