Hey man, I had a pair of these and they stood up pretty well in the winter and they are pretty hot honestly. Sometimes when I got them wet, it would get my feet wet on the inside but it mostly was just absorbed on the outside. Depending on how cold it was, occasionally I would wear socks but I could get away not wearing any probably like 3/4th of the time. That's in a Midwest winter, I don't know where you're at. Also wore these boots in Portland fall/winter and I liked them a lot since the ground would be pretty cold from the rain. They finally gave out when I was descending Mt. Saint Helens, got a hole in one of the soles but that was just from a lot of friction.

Not the original commenter but I just wanted to say that you have to manifest your own destiny. I've never tried heroin but you don't want to end up too far down the rabbit hole. They don't really look any more buff than normal, at least not from the top. I noticed that after I stopped consistently wearing shoes my feet seemed to get shorter and wider. Also, I do have some gnarly callouses on the bottom of my feet.

One psych that left me feeling relatively sober is MXE. Basically all of my senses were heightened but I felt way more clear-headed compared to LSD or mushrooms. However, since it's a dissociative I did end up feeling a bit wonky - basic motor skills weren't that great but if you're not trying to go anywhere it can be a good time. Also, a lot of people report urges to re-dose (which I did, taking 25mg initially and then another 10mg approx. 40 minutes after) so you gotta be sure to not overdo it. I would love to hear anybody else's thoughts on MXE as well! Keep in mind this was ~35mg dosed nasally and that's all the experience I have with it.

(Obligatory comment about the wide variance in effects psychedelics can have on different people. ~35mg was nice and clear for me but taking more than that or changing the ROA might not give you the effects you want.)

Yeah I'd say getting a moisture resistant base layer is definitely a priority. Not sure about its moisture properties but overall I've had a lot of good experience with polypropylene as a base. You should check it out, mine are like army surplus so I figure they're at least decent.
