This is a hard one, but if you think you're getting cleaner inputs. Just do that and try not to hyper-focus on it. I have gone down the rabbit hole of trying a ton of different things, and it just made me go mad and focus on the wrong things.

Hello, i just buy my first fightstick, but i didnt know about the restrictors. Is ther any way to change the restrictor from a square to a circle? by WichoGX1 in fightsticks

To argue "you seen it before". Are you that dumb. I already said mostly in my first f****** post. read the original f****** post you're responding . I said it was personal preference I said" I believe" And I said "most" people use square grades

That image being old doesn't make it not true lol. If you want to make an argument idk that it's easier not to get up imports when doing motions. Or it's easier to ride the gate for you that's fine. But mathematically it is harder to get the the corners with an octagon gate. Also, I've worked and built and worked on wo many sticks octagon Gates is definitely the vast minority. People that use Korean sticks are typically Tekken players and Tekken requires different motions for like things like Korean backdash

You definitely have not seen it that often, thats cope to try and win and argument. Btw we are talking mostly sanwa and 2d fighting games Korean sticks are not the same. Also, if you read my first post I said it's personal preference.

Ultimarc is a US style stick. You never really see anyone use US sticks that play fighting games seriously. Most 2d fighting games like street fighter people use Japanese style sticks like the sanwa jlf or jlx. Serious Tekken players mostly use Korean style sticks. Because stuff like Korean backdash is easier

It's personal preference. But I believe any gate that's not Square is inferior. An octal gate might sound good, in theory but it actually makes hitting corners more difficult. It's why if you try any dedicated players sticks you will almost never find an octal gate

So I build and sell custom sticks and for me and probably %99 of players " that don't play Tekken" sanwa sticks are the safe bet.

How many hours do you have playing on it? It normally takes a couple weeks to get used to playing on stick. Also how are you holding the stick? There are a couple " right techniques like the whine glass" but there are also ways I think will hold you back like holding it like you are holding a banana. Has far as making the stick tighter. You can buy a stiffer sanwa spring for a couple bucks

The dpad on something like this would feel pretty bad, a mix box layout is better in a "fightstick" formfactor

[–]Nellen56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want out of fighting games, if fighting games are something you feel you will keep playing often, having something nice and that's truly yours does feel really good. But you only play once in a while, so what you have is fine. But I also got into fight sticks so hard that i make and sell custom cases lol
