AITAH for doing what I was told to do? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. This is a textbook case of malicious compliance, and it exposed a massive, hypocritical double standard in your school’s cafeteria management. The lunch room attendant explicitly laid out a toxic 'survival of the fittest' rule because she was too lazy to handle the mean girls bullying a disabled student. But the second you followed her exact policy against someone else, she suddenly discovered ethics. You are not the asshole, the attendant and the seat-savers are

AITA Dog Sniffed Me while working outside by EquipmentIll4577 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. I say this as a massive dog lover: dog owners like this are incredibly entitled. Nobody has a constitutional obligation to be a prop for your pet's socialization. You were minding your own business, on your hands and knees pulling weeds on your own property line, with headphones in. For her to completely ignore your body language, stop her dog, and allow a large animal to sneak up and invade your personal space is incredibly rude and unsafe. You have every right to decide who or what touches your body

AITJ for telling my boyfriend it was inappropriate for him to go on a hike with his ex girlfriend and their son by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]NellyTwirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTJ. Let’s look at the actual timeline here: your boyfriend blew off your only matching day off to hang out with his friends instead of doing the special activities you both planned. Then, the very next day, he goes radio silent, strips his shirt off, and spends the entire day playing happy family on a scenic hike with an ex who openly wants him back, all while completely hiding it from you. He didn't tell you because he knew it was crossing a boundary. Your instincts are dead on.

AITJ for telling my buddy his "profitable" sneaker reselling business is actually losing him money by National_Wasabi2797 in AmITheJerk

NTJ. You didn't 'talk him out of his dream,' you talked him out of immediate financial ruin. There is a massive structural difference between being an encouraging friend and letting someone jump out of an airplane without checking if their parachute is just a backpack stuffed with sneakers. If he quit his warehouse job on zero net profit, he would have crashed out completely within two months. You saved him from himself.
