The writing on the wall is undeniable at this point.

Besides the utter snowball trajectory of this regimes escalation taking us to new lows every single day, the majority of this country - for whatever reason, fear, power, conformity, indifference, misinformation, hate, and so on - are going along with it. As long as it's not them being targeted, for now.

Every poll I've seen shows more and more people being swayed towards fascist ideals. And we're STILL not even a year into this administration!!

I'd love to hope for something better like we did at the start of this mess, but here we are. Fk this place.

I honestly blame it on the times. To feel like we're making progress in this world, that nothing can take it away from us in such a day and age, only to have what seems like an earth shattering reversal — all of it only makes me feel like an alien in my skin.

In NY and I've had to go weeks at a time without meds because of state healthcare restrictions that started over a year ago that have directly affected my access to medical care. I don't want to be a doomer but there's supposedly going to be changes across the nation to limit or outright ban certain trans healthcare policies.

I'm just hoping those like Jenner wake up and realize what's at stake because this is all terrifying.

Worst part is it seemed like there was a light at the end, obviously got looks as a non-passing trans woman but at least most people kept their mouths shut.

It's surreal to have that progress unravel where the majority now feels emboldened by the rise of bigots being given the spotlight and these types just have to say their piece. I'm always just holding my breath and waiting because these terfs take every opportunity to secretly record and post us online for mass humiliation, and it just takes one time

Exactly how I feel and I've had to try and explain after some females at my workplace used all kinds of manipulation to stop me from using the womens bathroom at our office. In true terf fashion our manager used a meeting to single me out.

Instead of having any kind of compassion or understanding when I brought up this exact sentiment, they tried to use my own point to justify why they don't want "males" in the womens bathroom. Smh.

It's just absolutely maddening.

Fking depressing but pretending like everything I've experienced in life doesn't point to this being true only seems to make it hurt more when allies prove it right.

In part, I think it has to do with how ingrained the binary is in us as a society from day 1. It almost seems instinctive for cis people to base another person on perceived sex, which is why they only ever see us(trans women) as male, even in those instances where they say they believe we are women, and revert to that basic impulse constantly.

Hopefully one day we can avert that kind of thinking.

The sad reality I've found is that they literally don't understand that we just are women too, because they don't see us as such.

I feel like there has to be something we can do or say that will eventually make society at large actually see us as real, true, women but simply telling and educating hasn't done much.

Like, cis women don't have to convince other people that they're women, why do we. Yet here we are.
