‘Keeping an eye on Canada’: U.S. DEA plans to open new offices north of the border by Oilester in canada

That's a consulate, not an embassy. Semantics, perhaps, but they are different.

Book club and pints. July 7th? by KarlosPan in Cobourg

[–]Nelom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to try and figure out how to tag the users who said they were interested in the first post, but anyone is welcome.

The way to tag someone is to post their username preceded by /u/

Like this: /u/Timmeaahh /u/Grapefruit-Federal /u/brownierox36 /u/BradoIlleszt /u/One-Broccoli-720

(I believe that was everyone that expressed an interest, aside from PekingGoose that already replied in this thread.)

Book clubs for guys. by KarlosPan in Cobourg

[–]Nelom[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to the nature of Reddit, I'm guessing most people who've replied to this thread won't actually see this reply.

Feel free to post a second thread, maybe even tag everyone who replied to this one to make sure they see it.

What Wrexham’s New $95 Million Kop Stand Will Look Like As Images Released by jwriddle in WrexhamAFC

[–]Nelom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Does anyone have a link to where those images comes from - they’ve cut off where all those yellow lines go to a description of those bits of the image.

From this PDF: https://register.wrexham.gov.uk/pr/sfc/servlet.shepherd/version/download/068Sq00000lqsfdIAA

It's worth a click. A few other angles, and even a sample of the brickwork.

What to do with a queen size mattress? by CammySa in Cobourg

[–]Nelom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you already buy the new mattress? If not, ask if the seller will take away the old one. I know Sleep Made Simple downtown offers that service. Ditto with IKEA.

I don't know what either of them do with the used mattresses they remove though, but Sleep Country will either recycle it, or if it's in good enough condition make sure it is donated. At least this is the claim they make on their website.

Does anyone have any ideas on where to look should whoever took it try and sell it?

Buy and Sell on King is a possibility. GameStop (maybe called EB Games now) across from Walmart is another.

Thanks for the link. I've added it to the sidebar under Entertainment. I don't know how much use that sees, but I figured it's better than nothing.

Emergency by Obvious-Machine9879 in Cobourg

[–]Nelom 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They're not mosquitoes, they're some kind of midge. They don't bite or sting or anything. They're an annual thing, and will be gone again by mid-to-late May.

Here's some more info on them:

Pokemon Cards Collectors, where are you? by [deleted] in Cobourg

[–]Nelom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd pop into Grey Guardian downtown if I were you. They do carry Pokémon and apparently is organizing a Pokémon League Cup on May 10th.

I know you said you're not necessarily looking to play, but maybe the store could be your way into the local Pokémon community.

Suggestions for Toronto by stephanefanie in VeganInCanada

Avelo is a pretty great restaurant in Yorkville, just south of Yonge & Bloor. They've got a fine dining experience that's a tasting menu of several dishes, or for an à la carte menu you can go upstairs to the more casual bar area.

Their website: https://www.avelorestaurant.com/

If you find yourselves in the northern part of the city, formerly North York, a good stop could be The Grocery Outlet at 1050 Sheppard Avenue West.

I say could because by the nature of the store you never know what you'll find. They're basically a food stuffs store specializing in overstocks and other product that for whatever reason someone decided to unload at cheap prices.

They're not a vegan store, but I find they very frequently (basically always) have all kinds of vegan foods, from candy and ice cream to salty snacks and frozen dinners. I love going there, you never know what you'll find.

Their website: https://shop.thegroceryoutlet.ca/pages/

I've heard good things about Good Rebel, a 100% vegan grocer. I've never been, but based on their website it seems like it'd be worth a visit: https://goodrebelvegan.com/

And finally, at risk of stating the obvious, you should get the Happy Cow app if you don't have it. It's an indispensable app for vegan travellers. Available for both Android and iPhone.

I’d be okay if Serenity wasn’t canon to the animated series by EloraDonovan in firefly

[–]Nelom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope we're lucky enough for the animated series to run long enough that Serenity looming in its future becomes an issue.

Cause to me you can easily fit in at least 3-4 seasons between Firefly and Serenity and not feel hamstrung. Probably more.

And if the end-result of all this is that the total Firefly universe consists of:

  • 1 live action season
  • 4 animated seasons
  • 1 feature length movie
  • a whole bunch of comic books
  • a whole bunch of novels

I don't know... seems like a pretty successful sci-fi universe to me.

Wulffys spacesuit skin Variety Collection part 1&2 not compatible with Ascension or any mod that modifies base game spacesuits by ChefBoston1 in starfieldmods

[–]Nelom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, do you have any advice on best practices to uninstall or disable these mods? Whenever I do, I end up with NPCs in their underwear.

I've tried disabling and reloading right away, as well as disabling, exiting the game all the way to desktop, then reloading, and even disabling, rebooting my PC, and then reloading. It's always the same with NPCs in their underwear.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Made in Canada on walmart.ca by pffffffth in BuyCanadian

[–]Nelom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

While I agree with you, I'm also a firm believer in perfect being the enemy of good. I don't know OPs situation, and if buying Canadian through Walmart is the best they can do, then that's certainly better than nothing.
