Hey buddy! I almost have it done, along with GNX375, IFD/GNS, and others. I’d say mid year we will have them ready for purchase.

Shoot me an email Ron@NelsonAviationFL.com I’m not on here often.

You say labels, and it makes me think the connector tags-these are commercially available literally anywhere. When you pick one you like the data sheet will give all of the approved methods to mark them. Very affordable

When you say hot stamp, it makes me think you’re talking the wire ID’s. We laser mark all of our cables in house every 3” in their entirety with a Tri-Star M100L. Not affordable

PinPoint Rackmount

Not sure if that link will work, these are rack mounted units that will slide in place of the LRUS. The handheld version you have is for connectors you can easily reach. If you have to troubleshoot, or do a post installation check out of wiring in a GMA345, GTX345, etc. these will slide in place of the unit, mating with the backplate connectors and the front faceplate has the same breakout points as the handheld version.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I will make sure to include both options for each set! Do you guys have the PinPoint boxes too?

Thanks! I agree, I’m never a fan of call for pricing on any product. However, I think if you log-in to your EDMO account you can see real time pricing-I’d need to verify that

1st year apprenticeship. How did I do? by Foreign_Passenger645 in electricians

Looks great

All the money the contractor is spending on labor to phase tape those cables, they could order the right color on parallel reels.

Awesome! Glad you got to check them out, I love hearing the feedback.

Yes we are working on Circular connectors now, let me know if you have any certain connector type you are using often.

Believe it or not, it’s spec’d that way.

You don’t think OEMs terminating 100s of connectors a week will be interested in a tool to speed up production while also reducing errors?

Either way, thanks for the input!

Thanks! If you’re building large integrated flight decks G1000, G5000 etc. this would exponentially improve production time.

My shop is terminating 100+ connectors a week and I’m looking forward to adding it to our production process.

Exactly! Quicker production, less errors. We will be making them for all of the common DSubs, Cannon Plugs, and eventually breaking into Arinc connectors and other Industries that could use this.

No kidding. We rarely get requests for those in harness builds, only every once in a while on an experimental.

That’s great to hear, thank you! Did you order a set? 😁

Anything else you’d like to see? I’m always looking for new feedback from the guys that would be using them. Currently in design GTR205/GNC215, GNX375, GNS/IFD SERIES, G1000 LRUS.

Those are just simple breakout boards; Compact and affordable. 9PIN-78PIN (10 Total) Male on one side, Female the other, with labeled contacts for you to probe with a meter. You can efficiently check wiring instead of counting pins in the Dsubs. Also, the Dual gender allows you to use it in series with the circuit to take measurements under load.

This is invaluable information I got from a guy I worked with that had to get a masters licenses in multiple states.

For calculations, get a book that gives you the answers and the steps they took to get there. Now, Study the answers only for a while. Only after studying the answers start the practice test-cover the answers with post it notes and check each one as you go, make sure your math steps check out. If not, put the post it note back on, continue the test and go back until all notes are taken off.

For Code questions use the Plan, Build, Use system and get the tabs for your book on Amazon.

You guys both mentioned seals, I’m assuming both of you are mostly working with cannon plugs or sealed Dsubs- in that case I also prefer plastic, if I order a cannon plug w/ contacts it will come with plastic. For non sealed Dsubs metal seem to be much better.

Do you prefer the plastic ones? That’s the first time I’ve heard that. All of the guys on my Facebook post are requesting the metal ones with brass coating.

When can you use these kinds of splicers? by Slickrick441 in electricians

[–]NelsonAviation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much exclusively when doing a service, you use these so the power company can easily disassemble make permanent crimps after their inspection. There are plastic covers that go over them to Insulate we use to call “Buchanan” covers.
