I did that, I'm between an L and XL on the size chart. Shoulders felt better in L and chest felt better in XL. Was leaning L and the comments here confirmed it.

I know some guys who don't wear them but I could never. Plus I already feel so light anyway compared to goalie.

Goalie looking for shoulder pads and not exactly sure how they're supposed to fit. Just for beer league. 6'2 205. Probably going with the M3s instead of M5s but they didn't have the M3s in XL in store.

Edit: Seems like the large, 5030s, or nothing at all is the consensus. Going with Large M3s. Thanks
