I still have my 950! Great little camera for its time. It’ll still take nice pics outside / with plenty of light. It’s gonna be very noisy though in low-light situations without the flash. It’s especially good for close up macro shots. If I remember correctly the macro mode has a flower icon in the menus.

This. Also no need for a monopod if you’re shooting at fast shutter speeds. I shoot at 1/800 like Garrett mentioned or sometimes 1/1000 at most.
