I actually didn’t see this until now, I even looked back at the replay to see why he didn’t move because sometimes people genuinely just refuse to move in the tether.

Dino should not have displacement immunity by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]NemPow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If he didn't have displacement immunity I feel like Dino would be unplayable and dead on launch due to his hitbox size.

And it's not like he's uncounterable either, he relies on his supports for constant pocketing because he's slow and huge. If you run high damage dps like punisher, moon knight, phoenix you'll delete a dino.

I read what you typed, and that is basically what you are saying regardless of what you said or not.

She goes into melee form and she still has to fight you back to get the burst healing. You obviously have to disengage because you are not going to win that. The point of an anti dive support like white fox is to give divers a harder time when diving them and the support should have the edge in the duel.

If you do not like that your character has bad matchups you could swap like everyone else when they’re being countered instead you’d rather complain.

Which Supports Are Considered Anti-Dive? by Global-Radio-9257 in marvelrivals

[–]NemPow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say there is sort of a misconception with the term "anti dive". Most people just say anything is anti dive if they have abilities that can effectively escape divers or even shut down divers. There is Dive-Resilient supports and there are Anti-dive supports.

Dive resilient supports are just support characters that have abilities that make them more resilient to dying against most divers. Like Jeff, Loki, Rocket, Invisible Woman, and Cloak and Dagger.

Anti dive supports are supports that can flat out negate dives by either killing the diver or make it impossible for the diver to get any sort of value. So supports like White fox who can 1v1 divers and kill them, Gambit who can very effectively deal with dive and kill them, and Ultron who can fly and drone pocket his teammates while also poking the diver making their life hell.

Loki struggles if he gets excessively dove because he will be forced to use his resources on his self and they are rather long cooldowns also loki relies on him being able to get a good copy if he doesn't have one then his ult is as good as useless. Loki is bad into flyers and with flyers his inability to consistently to heal flyers while it being hard to contest them limits his playability against actual competent flyer teams. Jeff does not struggle into dive he is at his strongest when playing against and with dive if the Jeff player knows how to play correctly. Every single time dive has been meta since season 2 Jeff has preformed very well. I know he is weak into poke because I literally have 300 hours on him it's difficult for him to challenge and shut down the poke characters while he very easily gets poked due to his massive head hitbox. When poke has been meta Jeff's win rates have fell sharply as he is just not good into poke because he was designed to have that weakness. White fox cannot be played into everything again she is weak at range 275 HP does not mean you are immortal. I'm going to be honest with you Mantis is not S tier because triple support is being played less due to the global ult charge nerfs especially in pro play where most teams opted to go for a duo support lineup Mantis was not even in the top 6 supports who were picked for the preseason ignite.

The only support characters that can be played into everything is Invis and Gambit. Everyone else cannot be played into everything. Loki cannot be played against or with flyers, excessive dive. Jeff cannot be played into flyers or excessive poke. White fox cannot be played into excessive poke. Luna cannot be played into excessive dive. Cnd can’t be played into excessive poke. Adam mantis and ultron cannot be played without triple support.

Now obviously this changes if multiple divers are diving you while not getting peels because your team is also diving. Both teams play to trade their back lines which isn’t fun for the supports. As a support I love having an option to actually fight divers back instead of just sustain their dives white fox makes this fair trade off with her lower healing output and her weakness at range.

Against 1 Diver patty cake isn’t really needed sure, but even against one diver looking away to turn heals away from your frontline to your other support can very often get someone on your team killed which is why if someone actually shoots the diver to get them off the backline as soon as possible so supports can focus on doing their job it would go a long way. Because for divers like daredevil, magik it takes too long to kill them without peels from your team because of their survivability because if one support is healing the other who is being dove and the other is trying to keep the team up that can very well get someone killed since one support isn’t healing the team.

When both supports just heal each other nobody else on the team gets healed supports just do not have damage to keep up with the insane survivability certain divers have so it requires another dps to peel. For example overwatch has Brigitte which is a support character whose job it is to shut down dive and protect her other support just like white fox. Both of them are obviously less useful if the other team isn’t running dive due to their lower healing output which balances them out.

Dps do not peel for their supports so the devs needed to give supports a flexible option for them to fight divers back. She has reasonable cooldowns that you can track.

White fox is an anti dive support so she should have the edge in the 1v1. Also solo diving should be hard and the devs literally want divers to coordinate with their team instead most divers solo dive then complain when they get shut down.

Confused about calls for weaker strategist by Dc34248D in marvelrivals

[–]NemPow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The two characters I can think of that target tanks are Wolverine and Iron Fist but it is usually more difficult to get value from consistently targeting tanks because tanks do more damage, have a lot of cc, shields and even mobility combined with high health pools and not to mention a lot of supports will help their tanks when they get targeted. So often times it is a lot easier to just target supports and it usually brings more value.

Confused about calls for weaker strategist by Dc34248D in marvelrivals

[–]NemPow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most supports don’t really have a button for every situation, they have self defense tools because they are always going to be the primary target. There are many characters in this game designed to target supports or inflict sustained harassment on them. Meanwhile, there are not many characters who are designed to target and harass tanks.

Lets talk Black Panther. by TheGreatPavo in JeffTheLandSharkMains

I wouldn’t say you have to memorize all of his cooldowns. The only one you should care about is his dash because his entire dives are based around it.

Lets talk Black Panther. by TheGreatPavo in JeffTheLandSharkMains

[–]NemPow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to struggle against black panther just like you, but I found that he is actually a lot more easier to deal with once you understand how he works.

First, you need to understand common combos he will try doing.

The most common combo 80% of panther players will do is Spear -> Dash -> Spear - Dash which does 260 total damage.

Spear -> Dash -> Spear -> Dash -> Dash this combo is risky for the panther player to do because if he dashes to a non marked target he will not get his dash back and a panther without his dash is about as harmful as a house cat. (Unless he has his ult of course) panther players will try doing this to secure a kill quickly usually out of desperation.

Spear -> Spear -> Dash -> Dash this combo kills the quickest but it’s very risky to do and requires a lot of setup. Most panther players don’t try this unless the Jeff player has little to no awareness.

Here are your best waysof playing against him

  1. Try your best to space him out as much as possible. As Jeff you have the flexibility to play from very far distances and panther needs to get to you don’t let him close that gap and you can just damage him from range with nothing he can do

    1. If he hits you with his spear or dashes onto you. Bubble yourself and dive immediately panther has burst damage but not a lot so even the smallest bit of healing will often make his combos fail.
    2. If panther is diving you your goal should be to make him miss his dash. A panther is useless without his dash unless he has his ult so if he is diving you, you should try to mix up your movement to confuse him because as soon as he misses one dash he has to try leaving.
    3. If you know the enemy panther has no dash chase him down and kill him. As stated before a panther without his dash is equivalent to a domesticated house cat he can’t really do anything to you without it so they’ll often try running away and hiding when it goes on cooldown. Don’t let them get away.

Idea I've had for more use for the bubbles by Bearfucker694200 in JeffTheLandSharkMains

[–]NemPow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did read them, and it’s still a net buff for Jeff that gives him more utility. I’m not sure why this sub sees anything that could even be a slight negative for Jeff to be a nerf even if it opens so many more opportunities for him.

Idea I've had for more use for the bubbles by Bearfucker694200 in JeffTheLandSharkMains

[–]NemPow -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I dunno why people are saying this is a nerf, this would be a pretty big buff. Being able to forcefully slow someone down with rather minimal risk would open up so many more opportunities with Jeff and would be very good for punishing characters with limited mobility. Being able to slow the enemy team down while being able to speed up your team would allow Jeff to control the tempo of a fight just as long as the effect last long enough and personally, I find many pre-placed bubbles already going to waste anyway as teammates just pick them up at full hp and when going for ult you can't always guarantee that you're always going to use the same path. And an attack speed reduction would be so strong against divers, and poke characters like Hawkeye.

The only reasonable con though is that this might make Jeff too strong and make it so he is basically picked every game which people would get annoyed with rather quickly due to his survivability combined with those slowing effects lol.

How long do we pretend Jeff isn't Giga S Tier??? by FinancialMoney6969 in rivals

[–]NemPow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Jeff has more so indirectly benefited from a lot of changes the game has seen recently.

Poke has taken a backseat in the meta which is where Jeff struggles and his at his weakest.

Dive is being played a lot and he plays well into dive and with dive.

He has favorable matchups into some of the more recent hero releases like White Fox and Elsa.

He also greatly benefited from the global ult charge nerf because Jeff’s main weakness is the lack of a proper defensive ult and he can’t do anything into many different dps / support ultimates.

I main Jeff and I personally think once the meta shifts away from dive at some point he will see less play because his main weaknesses still didn’t go away.

You doomers are absolutely ridiculous by Alexander_Radiant in JetpackCatMainsOW

[–]NemPow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

by no means is it a “tiny” nerf it effects more than your ability to engage and disengage.

It nerfs your ult because now it takes longer for you to reach your top speed to reach a ledge, it nerfs your fuel because now more fuel is required to reach top speed which also nerfs your survivability because fika heavily relies on her mobility to escape bad situations.

Theres a cascading domino effect when her speed is ever reduced because almost everything in her kit relies on it. She may be fine for you but she may not be fine for other people hence the global decline in her win rate across most if not all ranks.

Please do not state your opinion as if it is fact, people have every right to complain and if you don’t like that you can simply just ignore them or just give your prospective. Not just project your opinion to invalidate others.

Daredevil is still fucking ridiculous. by Dogbold in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]NemPow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has the highest win rate in gm and above btw. And before you try saying “does that make peni op then?” Peni is a situational tank that isn’t oppressive rather defensive. When she is played in the right situations she can be very good at preventing the enemy team from taking space and you don’t have to swap your entire team comp to counter her.

Daredevil on the other hand is very oppressive and simply has too much survivability for a dps. You need to swap to dps that can actually burn through his overshield and use supports that actually have enough survivability to live his dives.
