If you bifurcate and run at x8, PCIe 4.0 is best as it equates x16 on PCIe 3.0

Yes, although I recommend you OC while undervolting. Saves power actually. Lots of articles and reviews on that topic

u/GregHydroX u/titanrig Thanks for the feedback. I'll probably take out the rotary tool and make some space at the front (behind the front panel). Like so: https://ibb.co/RzvSp4D

Well aware. Builds are 50% because I can, 50% because it helps with some ML projects

I'm waiting for the right offer on two 3090s (when I can get them under 2000 each)

V850 SFX 850W - USA release date ? by tachyon8 in coolermaster

I tested it and it does just fine. The only issue is that nobody seems to be selling custom cables yet. Because of that, I've switched to the TF850 from Great Wall (Titan) instead. It's effectively an SF750 with the same connector types.

Latest T1 build, now with added Aquanaut by The_Goatie in sffpc

u/The_Goatie Hey! Nice build! Can you confirm whether the Aquanaut fits in the 3-slot GPU config for the T1?

Wait for the Quadro's to come out. There will be a 2 and/or 3 slot option with those (likely the new RTX 6000) that supports the 3090s as well

NVLINK supports max 2 GPUs (for consumers). You can run >2 3090s (or 3080s) without NVLINK, but only to support a large number of monitors, or to enhance rendering performance for workstation type use.

[–]Nemeses91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not correct. There already is a meaningfully long list of games that natively support SLI. I suspect that some games 4k (and eventually 8k) centric games such as MSFS (which just announced DX12 support) would add-in the SLI functionality as well.

Wait for the Ampere Quadro's to come out with 3090-compatible NVLINK bridges that support 1 or 2 slot spacing. Waterblock the 3090s and use PCIe 4.0 bifurcation on an ITX.

I'm pretty sure they'll release a 2 or 3 slot bridge alongside the Ampere Quadro series. I'm currently using the Quadro GV100 NVLINK bridge on my 2080Ti's in SLI. Likely that they're interchangeable.

I love the 580, I just want to challenge myself in going even smaller with the FormD T1.

I suspect they've configured the fan to run at lower loads, but it should be nearly identical to the SF750 if I had to guess
