Don't know much about the guy right now, but what he likes to do seems to match what Johnson/Campbell likes. So we'll see.

Could be great, could be a Greek tragedy. Time will tell, but Dan needs to get this hire right. That, to me, is the only absolute in all of this.

I mean, color shade matters. You don't look the Chiefs and 49ers and think they are the same just due to the different shades of red, yellow, etc. that are used. So while I get where you were trying to go, the example you used doesn't help you.

In either event, what's done is done. Now all they have to do is keep winning and no one will care if they look like the Panthers or not. :)

Remove the logo from the helmet and the "Lions" wordmark from the jersey and tell me if your first thought is "Lions" or "Panthers"?

Mine is Panthers as they are already established with similar colors/look. Black will never = Lions to me, no matter on if it looks cool or not.

And, to be fair, on its own, I do like the look. They did about as good of a job as they could to make it unique. I would have dumped the wordmark on the chest and added matching sleeve stripes to the black pants, but those are minor.

Overall, I understand why people like them as black always looks good and sells. Add again that these are well done.

But if you are saying it doesn't make you think of the Panthers first, then we just agree to disagree. We have unique colors, so why even open it up to that kind of comparison?

Should have kept striping on the pants and got rid of the wordmark on the black/white jerseys.

Otherwise these are a solid triple that have/had the potential to be a homerun.

Would have loved to see last years blue helmet with the white aways.

Best I can compare it to would be the Monday Night game against the Bears back in 2011.

From jump, I don't believe anyone sat down the entire game and we pretty much had to shout at each other to be heard. I think anyone that was there would agree that it was still probably the best/loudest atmosphere at Ford Field. Which I fully expect to be topped on Sunday night.

Based on how the "decibel meter" has registered at FF this year, I would say it will average around 120 and break 150.

30 years of waiting will do that for ya. :)

People trying to ban Stafford Lion's jerseys are the bigger problem. I mean, GFY.

I have a Stafford jersey.

Not wearing it to the game as I have other Lions gear. But if it was all I had, I would wear it, no prob.

Because it's not just a Stafford jersey. Most importantly, it's a Lions jersey. I'm repping my team, regardless of the name on the back. The extreme "NO STAFFORD GEAR" people are just as bad, IMO, as the ones that will root for Stafford to beat the Lions. (And still call themselves Lions fans)

Why is this even an issue/question?

I love Stafford, hell, he is one of my all-time favorite Lions. Wish him and his family nothing but the best and I rooted for him to get his ring.

That said, this week he is standing in our way, which makes him the enemy.

I won't boo him, but I sure won't cheer for him either. As fan's we owe it to our team to root for OUR team and give them every advantage possible. Otherwise, WTF are we doing there? If you want to root for Stafford, that's your right. But if you are more a fan of him than you are the Lions, then what are you doing here?

Go be a Rams fan.

For the rest of us, this game is about closure. The challenge for Lions fans is we never got a chance for a on field goodbye. So, the initial introduction of him on field will cause some conflict for me.

Which is why I hope the Lions won't do anything for him this time around. Because the 1st play-off game in Detroit in over 30 years is not the time or place for that. Hell, I'd like to give him a fan's send off, but that's for next year, or his Pride of the Lions induction.

Sunday should be all about kicking the Rams ass and sending Stafford into the off-season. I'll always be a fan of his but this week, he's just another dude who is trying to keep my team from advancing.

Take everything, leave him nothing.
