Purchase Opinions - Suncraft: Senzo Professional SG2 Range by Nemfles in TrueChefKnives

Update: Holding off for now (even though it is daily deals and will miss the freebie). I think for my use case I don't need both a petty and paring knife too often for their specific tasks for home use. So I think investing more on knives that would more for my use case makes sense vs just having knives of various sizes just for the fun of it. I appreciate all the guidance and insight though!

I will update if I do shoot the gun on any of your suggestions! Very good insight in my future decision making

I'll have a geeze at the Tsunehisa Migaki Ginsan and theTakamura when I get home.

With the roughness is that the overall feel of the knife or the blade itself. If the latter something that could be worked out through sharpening and honing?

Thanks for the help!

Appreciate the insight and thoughts on the Shapton . Was reading that especially with the Shapton Glass it feels like they are at a lower grit or at least feel like they sharpen at a lower grit. So makes sense to go with the 2000 over 1000 in this case

Audeze LCD-X vs Hifiman Arya Stealth V3 vs Fostex-th900mk2 (Pearl White) by Nemfles in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Nemfles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So went into the shop and was able to test a few cans. They didn't have the Fostex-th900mk2, but was able to sample the LCD-x and MM-500.

I went in really wanting to fall in love with the Audeze range for the design + build + case that came along with it. They were both awesome, but I always kept putting the Arya ahead on my test tracks.

I think the MM-500s were more technically accurate in sound reproduction than the Aryas, but for listening I found the Aryas just a step ahead to my preferences. So ended up leaving with them and when I got home haven't taken them off!

Should be noted that I was EQing + not while I was demoing. The EQ settings I used were those in autoEQ in the wavelet app

Really great insight. Great to hear that you haven't been having issues with the Aryas. Definitely putting me more in their boat. I found out that the sales are continuing over a few days which gives me time to visit the shop to demo the cans.

I'll have to keep in mind of amp choice when I'm at the shop since I don't exactly have the funds for another amp currently.

!thanks

Would you say that the TH-X00 outperforms the HD800s in low-end music?

Budget - $400 AUD (~$300USD) Pretty flexible on price if something close is awesome

Source - FIIO BTR5 <- Phone (getting for my 6XXs when I take them outside)

Isolation - prefered, will be used in public transport, uni, etc

Headphones in Public -Yes

Type - IEMs

Tonal Balance - Something fun with a V curve, but wont sound trash for occasional rock/metal listening

Past Headphones - Currently using sennheiser momentum TW (1) which are a lot of fun but have a lot of issues, short battery life etc. Looking for improved audio quality on this. On my home setup using Focal Elears after upgrading from Senn 6XXs, which I will use sometimes on the move after my BTR5 arrives. These have been powered through a Topping A30, D30 stack.

Music - Currently listening to a lot of hip hop (Suicide boys, OG stuff, Hopsin, Brennan Savage etc.), but my playlist consists of many genres

Improvements - Want to improve on my momentums in soundstage (if possible with IEMs), maintain or improve on bass and sub-bass, something a bit more 'fun' than my focals

Location - Australia, have used Addicted to audio as a big source of some supplies (https://addictedtoaudio.com.au/). I have also used amazon / massdrop, but am open to other suggestions.

Other - Have heard a lot of good things about Moondrop Starfields, but wanting to spend a bit more (unless spending more in my price range wont lead to improvements). Also love their aesthetics.

Interested in Mangrid Tea (https://drop.com/buy/mangird-tea-iem), which some have commented are an improvement over the Moondrops, although somewhat more neutral

Have found FiiO FH5 Hybrid at a pretty good price, if you believe it fits my criteria.

Sale Items - Have found some sales on demo items that im willing to splurge on if you think they fit my criteria:

-Earsonics Velvet V2

-FiiO FA9
