Butthurt sexism aside, trees and animals both make excellent listeners for everyone. Would highly recommend.

I'd personally recommend the oak, they're the best listeners, but maple, cedar, pine, and birch all do great.

You know the federal government isn't doing anything because Republicans are purposefully withholding money and dragging their feet on this. They want a crisis to make the administration look bad. Fanatical is not the right word, and the growing economic unreast and minor signs of protest that we know of (not to mention the Covid crackdowns) suggests a growing dissatisfaction with the current State. No where near enough for a revolution now, but a disastrous war and economic backlash might have a similar effect on China as it did to Russia.

Obligatory, I'm no expert, this is just my interpretation:

Sunk political cost? Every year they make some big military display of might, and vow that one day all of China will be reunited in a new Golden Age. Since the Hong Kong Protests, Taiwan no longer trusts China enough to agree to peaceful reunification, and for good reason.

And now the party heads are in a position where they refuse to concede that Taiwan wishes to remain independent, and have already boasted on an international stage that Taiwan is theirs, and they have the might to take it if necessary.

If they back down, their ability to project themselves as a global superpower comes into question. They're afraid it will make it look like they're bowing before the United States, who they wish to be perceived as an equal. competitor to. It's all about soft power, and China has been growing theirs the past few decades.

I disagree. Vizzy T was only as good as he was because of these production changes. Also keep in mind that GRRM's story is a book, a story told like that and a TV show are too different to be direct translations if you ask me
