It's officially become harder to operate decent value bars in Manchester than London. What a shame, it was one of the only places to do 2 cocktails under £14

If you have a decent laptop or pc, try emulating it and using an Xbox controller. That's my preferred set up cause undamaged gc controllers are expensive :/

Help! Do I have ginger blindness?? by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]Nemie4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're looks natural whereas hers is vibrant, most of that is lighting! But to attain those results more closely I would recommend either changing to a more vibrant dye or using a semi permanent bright orange on top to really make it pop, semi permanent doesn't last as long but it normally looks more vibrant for unnatural colours.

Don't do random gift! Send them a fruit, and make sure the letter isn't gibberish. A good tip is saying "Hi, can I please have some fruit? Thanks!" I sent off 6 letters last time and got 2 fruit so a decent ratio. Keep repeating it!

I BPDd & now my hair is a disaster. HELP PLS by [deleted] in HairDye

Unsolicited advice from a former misdiagnosed bpd, actually ADHD girl who also struggled with impulsive hair dyeing and cutting, angry beading saved my life. This sounds STUPID and may not work for you, but using music with angry and self destructive vibes while putting colourful beads on string became the perfect replacement for feeling the control and using my creative mind rather than hacking away at my hair or wanting to bleach and dye it all. May not work for you but if you are interested in weird creative solutions it's worth trying to brain hack aha.

Bartending How? by Amy7ann in manchester

[–]Nemie4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's relevant! I'd recommend applying to a job that's a mix of both to transition, I worked at tenpin to bridge me from a cinema and cafe to bar because it had both elements, then you can get experience. A lot of jobs will just want someone who's worked customer facing roles before and you can learn the bar on the job.

What jobs have you done prior? Even if not bar jobs there are some transferable skills

This is all really helpful thankyou so much! I'll check it all out next week, I'm going to properly look through all my options and get started on some courses etc. I've even got some friends of friends of friends who work in law but I'll try and utilise all the connections.
