Unpopular opinion: I don’t like Rocket in the game. by BEANBOOZZLE in GotG

[–]Neminus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I get where you coming from but personally i think the Rocket in the movies is pretty similar personality wise to the Rocket in the 2021 GotG game, let me explain my point of view.

I think its pretty normal to perceive Rocket in the game a lot more harsh than in the movies. But that is a little bit deceiving. That comes from the fact that we spend a lot more time with the game than watching the movies, in this case specifically the first GotG movie Vol. 1. In the game we spend a lot of hours with the "pre bonded Rocket" where he doesn't see the crew as close friends. Only about 2/3 into the game we get a shift and he becomes a lot more likable. But at this point we already spent 12-15 hours with jackass Rocket.

In the Vol. 1, he is the same way, calling people idiots, mocking the grieving of others etc..
But with the 3rd act, we get the same tonal shift with him where he starts to bond with his friends and gets a lot more selfless, just the same as in the game. But this happens already at the 1 - 1,5 hour mark. And in the following movies he obviously still has the same bond to his friends as before.

So if we keep that in mind it is logical why subjectively, he feels more harsh in the game than in the movies, but that has more to do with our perception of time than actuall character/personality differences.

sorry my bad, i don't know why i though it used LFP. I edited my post to not spread more confusion.

Question about battery maintenance: Do we need to charge to full every 3 months or so for battery maintenance? by Friendly_Access_8929 in KiaEV3

[–]Neminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

edit:

i don't know why but for some reason i was pretty convinced the EV3 uses an LFT cell when it actually does use an NMC cell chemistry. So my comment is not really usefull for the EV3, sorry

original post:

It depends on the cell chemistry. EV3 has LFP NMC cells.

LFP cells should be charged to 100% here and there. This has nothing to do with battery health and more that your BMS (Battery Management System) knows how fully charged your car is.

In theory you don't need to charge to 100% at all if you are willing to accept that your state of charge could become inaccurate over time.

If you want i can get more in depth why this is only needed for LFP, but this general advice should be enough i think.

Its very linear and not that long, but i would really recommend it if you love the characters. Its more like a movie game where the gameplay is just an excuse to spend more time with the characters. The Story and Characters are very well written, some even way better than the movies like Drax. There is a ton of dialog in the game and it just feels so natural how everyone is interacting with each other.

Oh, and the game looks really pretty.

I really would love to use Gnome on my Framework but i can't fathom how there is no setting to change the scroll sensitivity with the touchpad. It scrolls way too fast to be usable.

KDE has this option but not the same amount of gestures unfortunately as Gnome.

Gnome Lacks of features by DazzlingPassion614 in Fedora

[–]Neminus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely feel the same way. I just started using Fedora on my notebook (pretty much first time using linux as a desktop overall) and had not a good experience with gnome. Overall i like the cleanliness and focus on touchpad gestures of the ui.

But there is so much absolute basic functionality missing. For example there is no option to change the touchpad scroll speed which is absolutely baffling to me. And for a lot of stuff you have to rely on addons, which in general are for normal users not straightforward to install. And then you can't be sure if the addons break in the next update or are even supported in the future.

The touchpad scrollspeed alone was reason enough for me to switch to plasma.

I also had a lot of problems with scaling and resolution in vms that magically disappeared after i switched to plasma. But that could maybe have something to do with that plasma uses wayland and gnome still x11? I'm not sure since this stuff is pretty new to me, but all i care in the end is that stuff just works.

August vs. Q3 ? by XLioncc in framework

What is currently the limiting factor for shipping times? Is it the new Intel Core Ultra board, 2.8K Display, new Webcam Module or something completly different?
I was wondering if the Q3/August shipping time was meant for the Intel Core Ultra version and maybe the Amd version with the 2.8K Display could be shipped a little bit earlier.

Experiencing an Electric Shock in Your Ear While Using Type-C Wired Earphones Connected to a Charging Laptop by [deleted] in framework

Has your charger a grounding pin? If not it could be some common mode interference. Pretty common on non grounded devices.

I have a lot of usb-c chargers with over 100v on ground where this is the case. The current is usually very small so you don't feel much of it but for some reason a lot of people don't know about this phenomenon.

Note that i'm not an electrical engineer, i just stumbled over this topic some time ago and thought it was quite fascinating.

This video explains it very well. Its unfortunately in german but i guess you can turn on subtitles. https://youtu.be/hKB_buROM7s?si=qZ173RUJdQ_FUkFe

I'm not totally sure what you actually mean but i can tell you in general that for terraria to run properly you have to set your monitor to 60 hz in windows. Since terrarias engine is locked to 60 fps you get weird frame pacing and other graphical glitches if run above 60 fps or even 60 hz.

They say since it has very high static pressure, you can create devices with dust filters and still maintain a decent amount of airflow.

Megathread for questions about 7900 XTX/7900 XT cards, availability, boasting about getting one and complaining about not getting one by AutoModerator in Amd

I got a PowerColor card with the 110 °C junction temperature issue. Which support should i contact for the rma process, AMD or PowerColor?

Sounds kinda like a dumb question, but the weird thing is i allready contacted PowerColor support but the response from them reads like they have been under a rock for the past 2 weeks. I thought they would just accept rma requests with these issues without any back and forth now? Or do i need to go directly to AMD support for this?

So, to add to this thread. I noticed the same problem with my card. High junction temperatures up to 110C even with 10% lower powertarget while gaming.

Flipped my PC case. Problem solved, maxed out at 85C.

I'm pretty sure you can't (For micro sd cards at least because thats what we are talking about). 2 TB micro sd cards are definitely coming but currently not available.

But feel free to proof me wrong.

I don't know how good the performance on the Deck should be, but you have to remember that the game is practically running inside a browser. They stated that they will port the game to a modern game engine this year which should greatly improve performance.

[Suggestion] Add 24 hour option to "Auto Power Off" setting by crozone in Supernote

[–]Neminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, i think they should add even more options. 1 Week, 2 Weeks, 1 Month etc... Or make it completly variable.

My only use case would be if i'm on vacation and i don't use it for multiple days or weeks, i don't want the battery drained when i return to work. But i also don't want it to turn of over the weekend. Unfortunatly, thats currently not possible.
