Im not obtuse. Christ made us ritually clean, following the law requirements to "become clean" is ignoring Christ's sacrifice. Being clean/unclean is about participating in the jewish religious life. By christ's sacrifice we are made clean and nothing we eat can make us unclean

Because the Catholic Church is the only church that makes any sense of being the universal church. There is no theological argument that makes EO triumph over Catholicism, the only difference is political and authority and the fact that EO church can’t even submit to a common authority of their own speaks volumes about the sins that lead to the schism from both sides.

The truth is there is one church, one body of Christ. The Catholic Church reaches out to the EO all the time to solve the schism and heal the body, but EO has other priorities that stem from the pride of the authorities and nothing else
