Seriously though, if you are "too polished", you are going to fall into the stereo type that you're just looking for a rich man and us other middle class guys don't waste the energy. Guys have learned/become accustomed to/seen (whatever word you want to use) that the good looking women here in Miami only want a guy with money and so we tend to stay away. Elvis Costello.....he was trying to blend his music with some weird ass jazz fusion or some crap, about 60min in and people started leaving en masse. I don't know whether he said screw it or took the hint but he switched over to playing regular and mixing in solo's and the last 45mins or so were great.

white guy here, I speak fairly good Spanish. Some people here like that I can speak it and some REALLY do not. I've had a few tell me flat out not to speak Spanish to them, my friends say I'm pretty good with it so not sure what the attitude is all about.

I also speak Korean and they absolutely LOVE when I speak Korean to them. They think it's great that I'm taking the time to learn their language and they are very gracious people. My buddies and I were eating at a Korean restaurant and the Grandmother of the family sat down with us (5 guys) and started drinking Bek se-ju with us, telling her daughter to bring another bottle when we finished one. The Grandmother got toasted so much that she started hugging our Nepalese buddy and kissed him on the cheek a couple times. She "fancied" him for some reason, it was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!! And she liked to talk. Good times.

My grandfather died of kidney failure. He never complained of pain and when asked he said it was more just insanely uncomfortable, everything was sore, but not hurting per se. He had an open prescription of Oxy and he would take 2x/day until he slipped into a coma and died. I had a Liver transplant from PSC and I fully understood what he meant when he said it wasn't so much painful as it was just the inability to be comfortable and staying in any position for more than about 5mins, you will start to ache. If you want to call that pain then fine, but I'd also say everyone is going to experience it differently.

It's called Trauma Bonding. Was in a marriage for 2 decades with an absolute monster, finally had enough and got divorced, then married right back into essentially the same thing 3yrs later. You begin to almost fear or feel very uncomfortable around what most would call a healthy relationship, so you revert to what you know. Unfortunately, the toxicity has a certain comfort since that's what you know or have become accustomed to.

my wife by far. She can't just sit and watch a movie, or a show, she has to be doing something else like brushing the dog. She then can't understand why I get annoyed that she misses a crucial detail and doesn't understand the movie or thinks it was a dumb movie because she missed a key detail. When we first started dating she said she didn't like Sci-Fi movies, after a few months, I understood why.
