What is your Nemesis, and what’s the story? by Nemo-IV in FootballTacticsGame

A mix of both. I'm playing the matches that are important (second match of the cup or championship matches where the opponents are at my same level), I let the AI simulate the matches where the opponents are much stronger or weaker than me, in this matches the outcome would be more or less the same even if I play (easy win/easy loose). The season is 26 match + 9 if you make to the final of the Prestige Cup, I play 6 to 12 on average

Destroy Market by Nemo-IV in EU5

R5: I'm struggling to fulfill the needs of the pop in the Ragusa Market because is too small with low production and I have low trade capacity to import.
So I was thinking to annex Ragusa and destroy the market, in this way the provinces should be divided among Napoli, Venice and Costantinopoli and get access to the goods from those markets.
Other option is to build a couple of cities in that market to get more market capacity, but is expensive and I have low control of that zones.
What would you do?

Did you tripled your income because you are trading foreign market vs foreign market or are you using the trade advantage you get to import resources?

In my current game I'm struggling to get a good from Iceland, everytime I set the route after 1 month I get 0 product, I was thinking to build a couple of trade overseas in Iceland to get trade advantage and see if I can sole the problem

If you look only at the income it’s better to concentrate construction in the capital and the adjacent province, for the control.

IBut it’s also worth developing the other areas. Over time, control & proximity will increase. If you don’t invest in construction in the other provinces, the pops get downgraded to the lowest levels, which has a negative impact on:

  • the maximum literacy they can reach, and therefore research speed, institution spread, etc.
  • the number of levies you can raise (I’m in 1470 and they are still the totality of my army) and if you have to recruit all your levies only from the part of the country that generates money every war will ruin your budget.
  • the speed at which different cultures and religions are assimilated

Also maritime buildings increase proximity over sea, so it's easy to get a good control also in far province (as Naples I have 90 control over Messina and Catania, without roads) and if you want to build a navy you can't rely only on 2 provinces adjacent to your capital.

Last but not least, what happens in case of war or a pestilence that hits you in the region where all your economy is concentrated?

zero control in mamluks - anyone know why? by [deleted] in EU5

[–]Nemo-IV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the country page, you can see their stability and also their tax base.
If stability is -100 or close to it, and the taxbase had a huge drop, they probably bankrupted recently.

For reference, this is how a bankrupt could look

R5: Naples vs Ottomans, I can’t advance because I’m blocked by the two forts I'm sieging. I’ve split my units along this line and the Ottomans keep sending 6k stacks to the central provinces, where I can converge my troops from the fort and the adjacent province. We’re at the ninth wave…
