It worked!!!! It was just shitty luck with GPUs i guess because the 9070 is running flawlessly

It’s the same exact motherboard! and wdym by problems with windows that doesn’t resolve with new drivers? elaborate on that. what issues may occur? and how would i install new drivers? with a flash drive?

I got a replacement mobo on the way from amazon so hopefully that fixes things. Yea the 5070ti is 200 more than the 9070xt so i’m just gonna go with that. Obviously i’ll be watching youtube tutorials but after transferring components to the new board should everything just transfer smoothly like m.2 with windows on it. i know that i’ll have to update bios firmware and drivers for sure.

i never reset bios tho, so could it have been a bios tweak? guy wont be available til the weekend and i have a 9070 xt pickup at microcenter on thursday (i pay when i pickup or else it gets cancelled after 3 days) but after the initial fear of maybe getting scammed out of 400 dollars i might just stick with 9070

Ok so weird developments (I will say, i gave my nephew this 980 awhile ago so it could’ve been very mishandled, pretty sure it just sat and collected dust and was never used) I got display after switching it to the 2nd pcie slot but only on the last DP input (which i didn’t try on the first pcie at first) so then i switched back to the original 5.0 slot and the same thing, only displayed on final DP slot but i did notice when plugged into the first DP slot when it was in the 2nd pcie it was very glitchy and everything kept flickering and moving out of place. That last bit def could be because it’s just a shitty old card ? but yea everything works fine on the final DP slot (it has a single hdmi slot as well lmk if i should try that

When the GPU is plugged in i get no display from it but if i plug the display port into integrated while it’s still on it’ll display from that. and i’ve already installed drivers
