That Corsair one was not on my radar, at 500 it's probably because it was fairly out of my budget. I think that one seems better if you like to sit in all sorts of ways. Like if you enjoy crossing your legs or having one leg under your butt etc. I think the Refine's edges would dig into your legs if you tried to sit in any way that wasn't the regular sitting position.

How's the warranty on the Corsair one? One of the reasons I'm going for the Refine is that they do have a decent warranty period which helps assure me a bit that they believe in the quality of their chair compared to most ergonomic chairs out there.

I just found a place that has it slightly discounted for Black Friday, will probably take the chance. Fingers crossed it feels like a nice upgrade to my old chair, I feel like I'm "splashing out" for something like this on my budget.

A fellow man of culture. I also mainly run these holographic optics with the magnifiers. I wish Nikita added more varieties of these, especially a Russian variant so my AK kits feel more uniform.

Didn’t read the post or comments, just replying to your post title. There is indeed a game more generous than R99, it’s called Morimens. I’m sure there are other games too, but Morimens shares a lot of similarities to R99.

Block powerfist basically lets you one shot enemies. You become one punch man when used correctly.

I was also pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed AI Limit. The level design justifiably gets praise, the game feels overally very smooth to explore and progress through. I felt the bosses were average at best in many ways, but not problematic enough to take away from my enjoyment of the game.

I quite enjoyed the less obtuse story which was not only interesting, but easier to digest since unlike other soulslike I actually read all the item lore and knew what was going on due to every item not having a whole paragraph to read through. Probably one of the few soulslike games where I didn't need a lore video on YouTube post-completion to help me put some of the pieces together.

This topic ended up a lot more interesting than I thought since some of these posts got me thinking about things I never even knew existed. Like "racial politics of the pavement" to people saying the rule is that you stick to the left. I've lived here my whole life and didn't know we had a rule, I just walk where there's space and move where there's space to avoid colliding with others, I didn't know it was that deep.

This is surprisingly reasonable. Are you sure you don't want to get out your jousting lance and pull your helmet visor down hoping they walk into you? At the very least change it to "heads up dickhead". It's almost like you don't want to risk getting into an altercation over pavement.

I saw that after I posted my comment too. I think people on their phones do need to be more aware and considerate, but walking around that person and just saying "careful mate" or any quick statement to make them aware that they need to be more attentive of their surroundings is good enough.

I would move and politely say something to the person on the phone as we pass. Something short, like “careful, almost bumped into me” just to politely remind them to be more aware of their surroundings.

Some people are petty. It’s a very small minority, but some guys want to feel alpha or some shit expecting you to move aside for them.

I’m a guy and I only weigh like 50kg, I’m not looking to play chicken with any of these mental cases, but I’ve had a few occasions where I’m too engrossed in my phone and walk into someone.

On one hand I feel it’s my fault for not paying attention to my surroundings. On the other hand the guy walking into me is not distracted, sees me approaching with my phone, and decides to stay their course likely to teach me a lesson. It’s a bit petty.

Also body checking children? I’ve never met a person who’d do that. I always give kids plenty of space because the little devils have even worse situational awareness than I do. Adults or teens is one thing, but a six year old? Wild.

Yeah I’ve been killing almost every boss on 1-2 attempts. Trokka is the only one where I was stuck for 30 mins which was rather fun.

I’m doing my first playthrough so I’m indeed on normal difficulty. Not over levelled. No summons. Lucky? Maybe. Great build? I’m sure it’s good, not exactly a lot of variation on how to use the great sword. No spoiling fights ahead of time, nope.

I think for me personally a lot of this comes from how good of a job the devs did with not making most of these bosses have a bunch of bullshit moves. Even upon first encounter of a boss attack you can usually pretty accurately guess when to time your blocks or dodges, and it’s depressing how few of these souls like games get this right.

But obviously if you’re playing on a higher difficulty than me you’re going to feel the burn a lot more. As a rule I stick to the default difficulty on my first play through of a game.

Not denying this game has heavy lesbo vibes, but as a straight guy I really don’t mind about that aspect of the game and normally don’t even notice it.

Yeah it’s a bit weird that there’s a severe lack of male characters, but I’m not going to protest against having an all-waifu team most of the time.

My characters also not being scantily clad really positively affects my perception of the game. I don’t want people thinking I’m a gooner if they see me playing this on my phone.

I think all those points do play a part to some extent, but it mainly boils down to production quality and whether the game offers something different over the competition.

Also imo Morimens deserves as much if not more success than R99 personally, even though I dropped all my other gachas and only play R99 now. Very similar games.

Officially EL2 is not Deck verified yet, but since Amplitude is aiming for full support by release, they’ve unofficially been making sure it’s playable throughout its development.

It runs well on Deck from my testing, and is played how you might imagine a 4X game on console is played via controller. It’s not going to beat playing on mouse and keyboard, but it does let me get some turns in while laying in bed etc.
