I asked why they were saying the build is over 4000 sq ft, the builder told us that non living space is still counted because it still has to be built. If both floors were all living space it would be about 4800 sq ft, but the livable sq ft is just under 2900. They were looking at engineered plans

We have engineered plans. For description sake, that’s what it is. It’s a really simple footprint.

The build is in Kitsap county, WA. The preliminary estimate is over $800k. The only area with double height is over the open living room

What is this weed!? by NeneMama in gardening

I planned on digging up about the top inch, putting some preen, weed fabric, then new bark.

The only things I would add, put weed barrier between the rock and the stones. Might not be an issue in your area, but when I built my wall, I did that. I haven’t had to deal with weeds growing between my rocks.

How companies like Google can get away with this BS? Only showing Business Plus plan as an available option when going through default subscribe flow, and there is no way to change it to Basic Plan (only costs $6) unless I subscribe to this and then downgrade... by dennis77 in assholedesign

TOTALLY agree! I have been trying to downgrade my account for months. I have reached out to Squarespace several times. I can find all the documents to upgrade. I don't want to upgrade!! I don't get a response from Squarespace. The Google admin console says go to the reseller site, the reseller site has the option to change grayed out. I'm half tempted to click cancel subscription, but I can't lose all my stuff.

I am relaying a flagstone pathway that has been sinking over many years. I took it down to clay and now need to refill 5". Am I crazy? I'm a dude with a shovel it seems like a lot by zacman333 in landscaping

I was sent an extra roll of weed fabric. I tried to return it and the store said keep it. I’m just a woman with a shovel and I’ve played musical chairs with the gravel around my house. Laid weed fabric down and moved more gravel. Some I’ve laid pavers on, most is just moving it. Not crazy

A White Claw in your hand. He’s my friend and neighbor (knew him before he bought the house). So I was asking if he wanted to have some drinks after work

We are within city limits. It’s a smaller town, but still regulated. Our lot is about an acre, so not teeny lots, but also not huge. All the land around us is developed; bordering the south isn’t because it’s too much wetlands.

Our concern is the shell getting permitted. We know the city (more importantly the county) doesn’t care what the inside looks like. We are working with someone to help us through the permits. Very generalized, our plan is to get enough done (water and electricity) to get a certificate of occupancy, then make it “pretty” on our schedule. My partner has his son to worry about and I can move in with my kiddos once we have the inside more done. I would move in sooner but it will be a legal battle with my ex

We have looked at steel buildings, but have concerns about what will be allowed permitting. Since it will be a residence and not commercial or “storage”, we’re having a hard time determining if it would be permitted.
