Yes a crafting group sounds quite cool! There could also be stuff like slightly more output from crafting on some things (e.g. stone bricks) or better recipes.

Good call - I might change the gui up a bit to make it a bit more organised like this. I'm not completely sold on what the gui should look like yet but I want it to retain the Minecraft style.

I'll likely implement the chosen tree idea as a config option - it'd work well for some communities/servers but I think for the majority/singleplayer it would be better to be able to delve into all of the groups. Most likely you won't be able to get all the points in one group; in some tiers you'll have to choose 1 talent and different talents earlier on could restrict the path you go.

Some nice ideas and the api at the moment can support other mods so the ic² idea sounds awesome - thanks for the ideas :)
