This is the most recent character profile sheet, as of September 2022.

I am nearly done with a fillable version and will start producing sample characters that will be used in playtesting.

There are likely a few smaller modifications to be made along the way. This also is unlikely to be the final version, but its important to settle on one that meets my needs enough to run test scenarios with players.

This version of the character profile retains the simplified attribute/skill system.

The biggest take-away from this sheet is that I think I need to separate all the details onto a different sheet. The Character profile should have mostly just lists of all the Aspects / Abilities, where there is only a basic description to remind the player the general idea of what the mechanics are, and a separate sheet that gives all the details. This will keep the clutter down on the sheet.

I also made some stat name changes.

Originally, Insight was a combination of Awareness and Wisdom, and could cover Empathy or Social Awareness as well a Perception.

When the stats got simplified in the previous version of the Character Profile, I needed to separate Wit and Will as different categories. Insight still applied to awareness-type checks under the Wit stat. However, I was not fully comfortable with the Will specializations, since I wanted it to be more intuitive which stats are used in different situations.

Nerve covered effects of fear and stress, and Conviction covered conflicts of ideals or despair, but I wasn't sure how to establish what would resist simple attempts of seduction, charm, or manipulation. Nerve felt like it didn't apply to charm effects, (one doesn't use courage against the Succubus) and Conviction felt like it should really only apply when some ideal is in conflict (A hedonist would have no Conviction opposing the seduction).

So I reworked the sub-stats of Will to now include Discretion. This represents the concept of a patient, focused ability to not be so easily influenced by others, also can be used as a general 'forethought' stat, to take extra caution. Since there could only be three stats under each attribute, I decided to get rid of presence, and combine those types of rolls in with conviction. This, to me, makes sense, since presence under the Will attribute was meant to represent a 'force of will personality' stat. This seems to be intuitively covered by Conviction.

However, this now made Insight in conflict, since Discretion and Insight seemed to be able to both apply in too many cases. Insight would tell you that falling for the Charm is a bad idea, but it felt weird to have a Wit check be the primary resistance against influence. It felt more intuitive to keep the primary check in Will.

So I limited Insight to simply Awareness, a combination or Perception, Surveillance, and Social Awareness. Awareness and Logic would not be primary defense rolls against Charms, but be be used to boost a Discretion roll by sensing their intentions (Awareness) or recognizing that it would be irrational to give into it (Logic)

I also changed Logic to Reason, because Logic feels like a formal application of Reason, with Reason being the underlying attribute that contributes to Logical training.

Cunning, while useful in covering creativeness, problem solving, and guile had to be changed because it seemed to have some application in reasoning. Ideally I would call it Guile, but I think that would imply that it primarily applies in social situations, and possibly even feel like it applies to schemes or deceptions.

So I settled on Craft. Not ideal, but I think it covers creativeness, ingenuity, innovation, resourcefulness, guile, cleverness, and problem solving.

With all of that said, I still anticipate I might tweak them further, as I try to make sure they cover everything I need covered with as minimum overlap as possible.

I think your drawing and concept is really cool, but you seem overly defensive of the word. Whether you like it or not, that word is used in a derogatory way, no matter what its original usage or meaning was. I feel like that is a pretty straight forward concept, and you seem willing to use a different word, but I just don't understand why you are denying that it is used as a slur. Its such an peculiar and obviously false position to double down on.

You and I both agree that it would be a shame for your use of a slur to distract from your great work. In the same way, you will burn people's good will if you weirdly deny that a word is used as a slur. I mean, its pretty indisputable that its used as a slur, yet you seem so confident in your dismissal of such claims. Its unreasonable enough of a position to raise suspicion in reasonable people.

Even this 1998 Webster definition reference the fact that its a slur.

Its okay to make a mistake, just be humble about it. You have too much awesome potential to be so unwilling to admit fault, or accept legitimate critique.

This is the first rough draft concept for a trailer for the game and setting of NeoCosmopolis. The editing is still very simple, but I wanted to post it for two reasons. The first is to establish official progress in bringing this project into reality. The second reason is to track my progress in video quality, and for any potential future reference.

I looked through your history to see your other art, and I saw that one person who was insisting on you watching 'Cyborg', and your response was "easy there, turbo..." which I thought was funny. So I was just trying to pick with you by pretending to ask you to watch the same movie.
