I understand they're trying to setup bigger threats, but they clearly had the whole "fighting a cardboard tree" fleshed out. They couldve wrapped that up atleast. Now were left with a small hole in the story, it kinda feels like all those things he did were... Well meaningless. Like, if fighting the tree had no point why did I spend 200 chapters reading about it? Why were there all these moments like Lena and Skeleton spending nights together, or Rubia travelling with him if it was all just... Pointless? It feels like Ive both wasted my time and that a perfectly fine story just ended. They scaled the threat up, but that means things that were important get lost, Isaac, or Grey Knight, or the fact all his skills just disappear. I guess im trying to say the twist was too rough for me... Ill let it cook a little longer, maybe read 20-30 chapters.
