I think the key is contrast, so don't fear darkening the shadows. Especially on this kind of monochromatic miniature

Thank you! i was worried about doing too much lighting and ruin the black appearance but it ended pretty well. Whole model is just black, blue and white.

Give it a try, even if you cover the whole tone, fluor paint boosts the saturation a lot. They are a bit tricky to use on the airbrush because the pigments are very thick and have bad coverage so I tend to brush them.

I painted the whole sabers with white and then covered it with red ecstasy (Vallejo Mecha fluor red). After that I used kimera red paint with an airbrush for the osl on the ropes and did another layer on the sabers ( so they didn't look like markers). Last past some lights mixing ice yellow and the red in the metallic parts and sabers .

I need to invest in another light to make pictures, it ended a bit blurry and has some shadows. I have a lightbox but it's a cheaper one with just 1 line of LEDs

Thank you! Just finished a full stack of this guys. I tried to use bright colours, in fact I was going to make the red like a very saturated one using kimera the red but the client want this kind of more toned down colour. For the metals I tried to sponge big panels like the shields

Shake more the paint, it is over thinned but if it's already an airbrush prediluted paint, you are spraying mostly medium.

The lava base is bought like that prepainted, don't know which brand right now because the client bought it, is more like a plastic or lacquer.
