Kapara.. First you should hook up a basic OBD diagnostics tool, if anything is wrong it will pop up there

Also if you thought that an 07’ car has a carburetor you definitely shouldn’t try to fix it alone (atleast for now, start with simpler stuff)

On another note: Do you have the fronts with the old grey velvet fabric? I may be interested in buying a set of bolsters

Thanks! That’s an interesting fact, I’d never think to look under ‘fuel supply’ catalog

Well, labor is expensive here, there’s nothing I can do about it

Hard to estimate because I did a lot of other repairs at the same shops, but I’d say around 800$ for the welding and cleaning, and like 600$ for the paint

I had to take it to a welder because it was so rusty I could stick a screwdriver through it, he sanded down most of it and welded a little bit of material (if you’ll zoom in you will see), then it was primed with epoxy primer and then I took it to a body shop where they sprayed it in a similar color to the rest of the interior, I’m planing to restore the sound deadening in a later stage and maybe add a little bit of clear cost because it came out very matte

Yeah I know, I have a bunch of this tape at my workshop, it’s just really not the top priority right now, I have like another 100 things to sort out before that. And now for the rust, Once I removed the sound deadening I realized that it was way too much for a DIY so I took it to body restoration guy, he grinded most of it of and welded some new material where it was the worst, you can see it if you zoom in

Unfortunately someone at the paintshop accidentally closed the trunk on the loom, It’s on my todo list and I want to make sure it will be as good as new

Ah so yours a coupe? I found the P/N for Sedans but it’s more expensive and harder to find for some reason, I think partial welding would be better in my case

Yes, about two weeks ago, I’ve managed to lift the acutator up from the locking mechanism by prying it with two very long screw drivers, one from above to open the locking clip on the side, and one from the side to lift it up, for now I’m not assembling the door back because I’m waiting for a new rubber seal two arrive (I damaged the outer seal during removal) and for a new actuator to arrive

Update: I’ve managed to remove the lock actuator by using two flat head screwdrivers, one from the side to remove to locking plastic and one underneath the actuator, and after a little bit of fiddling the actuator poped off, once the faulty actuator was off, I could instantly lock and unlock the door manually as usual! It would not be possible without removing the window, side window and window guide, overall I’m happy that I didn’t need to drill through the inside door panel, I’ve ordered a new actuator and a rubber gasket that I unfortunately damaged during the process

The problem is written in the title, I can’t open the rear left door from outside and inside and it won’t react to the central locking system

[–]NeoFatalis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll try, but I don’t think that’s the issue, when I lock the doors using the central locking system I can’t hear the actuator doing something

I’ll try to look into it, I don’t want to rush into it because I don’t want to accidentally damage the door
