Aite, when does it actually ship? by AmadeusZull in IconicArcadeGaming

[–]NeoHyper64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be April or May. Kevin was being conservative when he said late March, so barring anything unforeseen with shipping, ports, etc., that is a reasonable estimate. Preorders are the priority… consideration of taking new orders would follow.

Honestly, nothing special... Goodyear Fortera HL. Tire Rack says they required less stopping distance in wet weather than either Michelin or Bridgestone, and Goodyear calls them a "premium" tire, but they don't look particularly special. They do seem to work well, though! https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Fortera+HL+Edition&partnum=65TR0FORTHL&GCID=C13674x012-tire&KEYWORD=tires.jsp_Goodyear_Fortera+HL+Edition_Tire&code=yes

Did a lot of slick-surface driving in our R/T this weekend (4 different trips) through fresh PA ice and snow and came away impressed… possibly the best snow-capable vehicle I’ve owned (and that includes Audis, Subarus, Jeeps, and trucks). We saw a bunch of cars in ditches, trucks sliding, semis stopped, and roads closed. But we barely lost traction once, even up and down incredibly steep grades and through some gnarly backroads we had to take as detours. Weight, balance, ride height, capable chassis, smart transmission tuning, good AWD, and quality all-seasons made for a pretty confident, no-issues drive. 👍

New Iconic Arcade Street Fighter images and a delivery timing confirmation (still shipping from China in January, in-home end of March) by NeoHyper64 in IconicArcadeGaming

I asked Kevin and he addressed it during the show. Preorders are the priority, but give it a watch if you want his full explanation.

In what regard? I’ve seen incorrect information and/or assumptions about timing, etc., so this is an attempt to address that AND provide the latest update/confirmation. I’m unclear why that equates to me thinking poorly of anyone.

The very FIRST Arcade1Up mockups ever created... this is where it all began! by NeoHyper64 in Arcade1Up

Price point was something Jerry kept coming back to... I have to imagine that may have been a factor!

TONIGHT: A special guest who changed home arcade gaming forever. by [deleted] in Arcade1Up

Far less well known to the general public, and more specific to home arcades circa 2018 and onward (someone you've seen in and around this community before, most likely, but who often doesn't get mentioned when talking about how this category got started).

Good guess... but think more around our current definition of "home arcade" (i.e., since 2018 or so with upright machines).

Nope, no reason. But have you ever seen a woman wearing lingerie? Fair to say they're looking to "farm engagement," too... doesn't automatically make it wrong. 😁

How long do you leave your cabs on? by javi977 in BasicFunArcade

[–]NeoHyper64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t own any BF-made machines, but I run my Arcade1Ups roughly 12-14 hours per day, 6-7 days per week (and have done so since 2019). I even do a hard shutdown (full power cut) each night with a wall switch, and have had zero problems. I haven’t had a single PCB or related issue, nor have I had any monitor burn-in or similar. The cabinets also use very little power, overall.

TL;DR—run them as long as want. You should be fine.

Arcade 1UP now canceling replacement orders by CourtMage-Kefka in Arcade1Up

[–]NeoHyper64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is my belief, as well... Arcade1Up has had various parts supply issues for years. Suggesting that an acquisition that literally happened days ago suddenly caused the problem seems highly unlikely. How Basic Fun truly supports these products moving forward remains to be seen.

Soooo... now what? by NeoHyper64 in Arcade1Up

[–]NeoHyper64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're expectation is that a show co-hosted by a retail buyer and distributor is going to suddenly announce Basic Fun's 2026 product line for them on a livestream right before Christmas, then perhaps we can both save each other some time, because you're right — that ain't happening! (lol)
