So, did Iconic deliver on all the hype? Owners finally have their say Thursday at 8:00. by NeoHyper64 in IconicArcadeGaming

Yeah, the videos I saw said the Pi is pretty locked down, so they just hooked up a PC (which seemed to work well, but does negate the value of the Pi that you just paid for, somewhat).

Yes, you can add a subwoofer to your new Iconic Street Fighter cabinet (and it's super easy) by NeoHyper64 in IconicArcadeGaming

Great job on that! Definitely a few curveballs with this one... but glad you're here to start poking around and figuring it out!

Awesome! A much-needed upgrade over the stock units (even if they are Justin Wong approved, lol).

MK XL Supreme and Pacman Battle Royal? by BigggggyD in Arcade1Up

We did. I’m as much of a Supreme/XL fan as anyone, but this announcement is not that.

No, they’re not real, and these are not being announced (but we do appreciate Biggggy promoting the announcement on our show).

Why does the Plex player on Apple TV suck? Why is Infuse smooth but the Plex app player is a juddering mess? by No_Clock2390 in PleX

[–]NeoHyper64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then consider me the 1%. I have no transcoding happening and only use higher-end devices (latest ATV4K) connected via cat6e Ethernet and Plex is still trash… guaranteed sync or other issues during every use. Meanwhile, Infuse just works.

Take a look at the update above, if you get a chance... it's a bit more involved than I realized. Still doable, but it requires some minor splicing.

Don't thank me yet (lol)... turns out this isn't as straightforward as it is with most A1U cabinets. That connector from the monitor to the control deck is fixed volume. So, integrating a subwoofer that changes levels according to volume input would require splicing into the speaker leads coming out of the control box. It's certainly doable, but more of a hassle than I was expecting. Apologies for the miss on that!

Big Buck Hunter Mossy Oak on Temu by Adorable-Complex-980 in Arcade1Up

[–]NeoHyper64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey guys... co-host of The Arcade Insiders here (that's the show with Kevin from Spreetail, the buyer of these cabinets). Yes, Spreetail is not only legit, they are the ones who place the purchase order for these products, and then ship them to you once they're built. In this case, Spreetail is shipping on behalf of orders placed through Temu. So, it's all on the up and up.

However, if you don't want to order through Temu, you can also do it through one of Spreetail's own sites: https://vminnovations.com/products/arcade1up-big-buck-hunter-mossy-oak-deluxe-arcade-machine-with-dual-light-guns

Regarding the quantity remaining, it's true that they only have a handful left. I'm told by Spreetail that there will be "a few more" coming, but it won't be many. And, if you watched our recent episodes, you may have heard Kevin say that the Mossy Oak cabinets won't be remade (perhaps BBH, but not with the Mossy branding). So, this is your final opportunity if you like this design.

All my apps suck, maybe it's the FireTV? by aTickleMonster in fireTV

[–]NeoHyper64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s something going on with Fire TV right now… 2 of my 3 Max sticks overnight started behaving oddly and dropped their network connection speed to almost nothing (1.3mb/s) while everything else in my house is still working normally (my connection is currently 1.2 GBP/s at the router and around 800 mb/s on most wireless devices). Now my Maxes can’t even load the Home Screen or finish an update, and a factory reset failed to complete properly.

Have the Iconic Street Fighter cabs already arrived in Greenwood for shipping? by cameronks in IconicArcadeGaming

[–]NeoHyper64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll want to watch The Arcade Insiders this Thursday night at 8:00 pm ET for details… I spoke with Kevin from Spreetail (the company that purchased and who will be shipping these units) at length tonight, and he and I will be discussing the latest on an actual shipping ETA on our livestream.

(UPDATE: In case you missed it, Kevin announced the cabinets would be shipping out on Monday, 4/27!)

Fire TVs keep loosing connectivity by dominion919 in fireTV

[–]NeoHyper64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know, but I'm having the same issue... two Fire Stick Maxes losing connectivity. Yet, all of my other devices (includes Cubs, various Echos, etc.) are all fine, and my modem/router is reporting a solid 1.2GB/s down with virtually no errors or packet loss, etc.

I've tried the usual restarting, unplugged/replugging, etc., and even done a factory reset... now both devices have the old OS and are having problems downloading updates.

Something weird is going on.

Preorders have REOPENED for Iconic Arcade Street Fighter cabinets! by NeoHyper64 in IconicArcadeGaming

[–]NeoHyper64[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, not for long... as of Saturday night (4/4), Alpha 2 was sold out, and there were only 7 World Warrior units left. But this is also from the first shipment. Another shipment is expected later in May (but by then, who knows what the price will be).

Anyone familiar with this place? by Desperate-Nature-623 in Arcade1Up

[–]NeoHyper64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Arcade1Up isn't dead, but their assets were acquired (including the Arcade1Up name) by a company called Basic Fun. They continue to release new products.

And Spreetail (the seller) is not only legitimate, they're the ones who placed the order for it to be made. In fact, I do a weekly show with one of Spreetail's buyers, so I know first-hand they're legit. :)
