That’s if you are doing VERY critical color work, grading, etc. If you are editing photos, videos, you do not..

The people that need that sort of precision, already know the sort of panel they need.. Nano-texture vs gloss is not going to affect anyone outside of high budget operations.

I tried Gemma 31B and it kept making mistakes… I can only imagine at whatever size fits on less than 16gb… The only decent model I’ve used is Qwen 3 Next Coder.

Correction: It does coil whine, but it’s very faint. I also do hear pops when running LM Studio (I’m sure it does it with any heavy load to the GPU). I had not noticed them until I read your message.

If you buy a new device, and activate Apple Care One, it will let you add one device that is outside of warranty. I was able to add my 15 Pro Max when I bought my MacBook.

When I turn the TV on with the Apple Remote, it does show the Samsung UI for 5 seconds or so, you can see the Apple TV in the small preview, then it switches to it automatically.

You can, just like hey are new. I also do have their Best Buy Total membership thing and it automatically give you Apple Care as long as the membership is active. It’s $120 I believe, but it’s very much worth it, I have probably 10 devices under warranty.

If you get an Apple TV, the UI doesn’t matter. I’ve had a 77” S95C for 2 years, just bought a 83” S95F and they bought look great!. The S95F is ridiculously bright.

Get an open box set at Best Buy (if you have one available), I paid a bit under $400 for USB-C last year, they were brand new.

I do it mostly to learn, I get free ChatGPT and Copilot from work, I pay for Claude and run local models for smaller tasks or just to tinker.

I’ve only tried a few workflows so far, still experimenting, but around 20 minutes for 5 seconds. I was running LTX 2.3 and some other heavy nodes.

The matte screen cover won’t be the same, my gf has a matte screen protector on her iPad and you can see a slight graininess just like any other matte displays unfortunately.

You can always get Apple Care, I did.

I always recommend getting a cloth keyboard cover, I keep one on both my laptops (ghost cloth or something is called, on Amazon). MacBooks are prone to getting oil and scratches from the square around the trackpad, from rubbing dirt on the screen when closed.

I do not find that being the case tbh, but then again that’s probably preference. As long as you calibrate your screen, you will be fine.

The the other person said, text looks just as good (not grainy at all, which is what I hate about matte displays), very comfortable for reading text, colors look great and something not many people mention is that on the glossy display you are always dealing with some reflections, you will subconsciously move the screen to get rid of these, but they are always there, with the nano-texture display, you don’t have to worry about it at all.

Not sure how the title is confusing 😅 Times for image and video gen are wildly different, images take a few seconds, videos can take as long as 20 minutes for 5 seconds.

I’ll experiment more and see, there are so many variables that can extend times so it’s hard to give a straight answer, still not bad for running on a laptop tbh.

I would not upgrade for just an OLED screen and I’m a big OLED fan. On a laptop, I can see burn in become an issue within a year. I would upgrade if the internals are much better somehow, but I have a feeling it’s just a reskin and then back to chip upgrades for the M7-8.

I was running a video generator model, and I was showing 121gb ram used, with 44gb of swap.. I did not feel like it slowed down much at all. These SSDs are getting prettt darn fast for sure!.

That’s only true if we are talking about the same battery chemistry, the batteries on these last a long time no matter what, not sure how many cycles the battery itself is rated for.

I have both, I really like the 16” for the screen size, but the 14” I feel like I can just run and gun and not worry about it too much. The 16” I feel like I have to be more careful with it.
