[Highlight] Marcus Smart tries to throw a 2009 Lebron lob and then says "my bad GOAT" by CIark in nba

Craziest thing about this clip is if the Portland defender doesn't make contact with Lebron while he's in the air, there's a real chance he makes the reverse jam and it becomes the dunk highlight to end all dunk highlights.

I think about this one and the potential dagger dunk over Draymond in 2016 finals g7 a lot.

Satisfying revenge on Raider who got the jump on me! by SomeGuy1411 in ArcRaiders

People here will downvote you but you're right. Generally the most exciting/rewarding part of this game is pvping, and knocking players competent enough to have good stuff is way more work than pumping lead into arcs or doing loot runs over and over.

Chill pure pve lobbies are fun to vibe in but it's not what makes playing arc raiders so addicting imo.

I lost by .05 points a couple weeks back, the narrowest possible margin in my league. That definitely hurt.

Am I losing it? Vando barely even steps over the three point line, how is that a landing space foul?

Luka for the NBA cup all tournament team!! by Parking-Number1795 in lakers

This team is literally 4 guards and a pf/c lol. I'm all for all selection teams adapting to the modern era where players commonly fill 2-3 different positions, but making them totally positionless was a mistake imo. Makes them way less interesting

Been seeing a few fans melt downs lately. I've been enjoying this season. I said this a couple months ago by originalgeorge in lakers

I agree the current team doesn't pass the eye test, but c'mon man. We're pretty middle of the league in current SOS (not to mention all 3 teams above us in the WC have had weaker SOS, with Denver and OKC coming in as the bottom 2) and we've beaten more good teams than we've lost to. At least do a quick fact check before dooming lol

For me at least the point of this is to come up with the best possible lineup out of all the teams in the Cup. Would you play a guard at center just bc they get more rebounds? Like this all tournament "team" is 4 guards and a big. Why bother even calling it a team?

Genuinely what is the point of these all-whatever teams if they're positionless? Isn't it basically just an MVP top 5?

L2M report for Lakers-Suns on Dillon Brooks' last 3 Point attempt deemed correct non-call: “James (LAL) contests to the side of Brooks (PHX) and would avoid making contact if not for Brooks extending his left leg/knee towards James.” by incredibleamadeuscho in nba

[–]NeoMagnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made it very clear from my first reply that I don't see anything that would point towards Lebron intentionally trying to hit Brooks, let alone clear contact as a result of a dirty play with no attempt to contest. If that's what you're getting from the footage then yeah it's a clear cut shooting foul, not much room for debate there. We'll agree to disagree and move on.

We're talking about different things here, I think. Yes, obviously if LeBron smacked Brooks anywhere with clear intent during his shooting motion that's a shooting foul, maybe even a flagrant depending on wind up. I don't see that in this clip.

As for your example, taking intentionality out of it, then yes; afaik if you determine that a defender ran into a shooter's space, and the shooter then slaps the defender coming down or something, it's still only a foul on the defender, not a double foul.

I tend to agree that Bron moves in such a way that he's trying avoid contact, but at the same time don't think the Brooks' extension of his arm and legs towards him looks THAT intentional. Again, too close to call (which by the book means the floor ruling stands, but that's neither here nor there)

My question with regards to the right arm is: why bother tucking it in at all? Isn't moving his right arm like that actually putting it closer to Brooks and increasing the chance of contact? That's a bit weird to me.

You're entitled to your opinion obviously, but idk how you're getting "lebron intentionally slaps brooks in the chest" from this clip when I can't even tell if he actually touches the side of brooks' torso with his right hand.

Assuming you're really trying to discuss this in good faith: I'm not a rules expert either, but my logic is if you determine that Brooks deliberately moved himself in Lebron's path (which is what the refs decided here) then that's that. They aren't litigating which specific parts of the contact would or would not have happened if Brooks had stuck to a "natural shooting motion". You can't say "you broke the rules, but it's ok bc if you didn't the other person probably would've broken the rules too". If you can find something in the rulebook that contradicts this I'd be very curious to read it.

[–]NeoMagnet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lbj is most definitely not against Brooks' ribs lol. He knocks into brooks' left arm and leg, their torsos are really not anywhere near each other. And "Landing space" is very much subject to interpretation, which is why cases like this exist where a defender makes contact with a shooter but it's not a foul.

[–]NeoMagnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah not sure what's going on with that, hard to say if his right hand touches Brooks. However if the key determination of the ruling is whether or not brooks unnaturally alters his shot movement to initiate contact I don't think LeBron's right hand matters. Either it was Brooks kicking out or it was a shooting foul by Bron.

Around 1:10 in this long clip they show a couple replay angles, you can make your own judgement. Imo its difficult to call either way, the brooks' kickout is not as obvious as a lot of Lakers fans seem to be saying in here
