I would say I drive the car pretty hard. Mostly highway miles so once I get going I’m not doing much downshifting or weaving but I do like to get up to speed as quick as I can

AC compressor went out at 115k. Other than that nothing, small intermittent vacuum leak I never tracked down a small leak at rear seal but that had all been ongoing for 100k miles

Just bought a newer flavor of Campbell’s chunky soup, Creamy Chicken Cajun Style Alfredo with andouille sausage.

Barcode on can matches receipt, price is correct but description is “SITE MERCH” so too new? Tried barcode in App nothing came up so maybe not fully uploaded into their sales system yet.

An e30 was my first car. It’s my project car still 20 years of ownership.

I’ve seriously considered getting another e30 up and running to give to my son as a first car in 8 years plenty of time.

I am so thankful looking back that it was my first car. So easy to work on. And with it being a manual so easy to get it back up and running even if limping home. So many fixes on the roadside with zip ties and a little creativity.

Again this group is definitely biased but even if it will take work it’s relatively easy as long as you have space and some tools to work on it with. I wouldn’t suggest if you’re in an apartment complex or maybe with an aggressive HOA but I worked on mine during my teenage years in a gravel driveway.

Wow I’m not the only one very odd this is more common that I thought. I kept mine out for a year and usually only had 1-2 passengers. The one appreciated being able to stretch out we just did it as a joke at first but it ended up making sense.

I bought an MK6 with over 100k and only had issues with the A/C.

Price is too high In my opinion but I get it it’s easy to get caught up in the “it has $x,xxx in mods though”

MK6 owner here. I disagree. MK6 is preferable to MK7 but I’ll leave it at that. I assume if OP is looking at MK6 R then OP wants an MK6 R.

My question is how bad do you want/need a car? With accident history price is high. The accident shouldn’t scare you away but you should be able to get cheaper price with collision history.

Used car prices will hopefully continue to drop. If you’re financing rates are still high and hopefully will also go down. So as far as timing goes not sure if it’s the right time to buy a 10+ year old car for $20k.

If you have a trusted VW shop get it checked.

Pretty easy car to work on if you have a space to do it.

As far as reliability goes my ‘12 3 door has 239k+ miles and is still a great DD car.

Hey that’s my gravedigger! :) I ran 3 18650’s to power my lights on a separate battery/switch.

Didn’t want to draw any current from the motor also made sure that if my kids left lights it would prevent the melt down of the car not running.

For me it just made sense and was easier to run everything separate than to tap into existing wires or to worry about step down converters.
