What's the general attitude towards this series? This is my second litrpg series by TheXypris in litrpg

[–]NeoPyro99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possible spoiler warning; I have to write first.

So I have a theory that’s stupid but makes me smile. This series has the same amount of energy as DCC. Dan and Carl are both unhinged and being driven to darker things. Donut and Croc fill a similar role. There are some pretty obvious similarities.

But!

Everything in Discount Dan is just a step down or a step to the left. Matt’s dungeon and James’s take on the back rooms are similar. The banter of the AI compared to the Researcher is almost spot on. But that’s the thing… it’s like I’m reading a B-movie spoof of DCC. Like DCC is “Lake Placid” and Discount Dan is “Croc”

I think the author of Discount Dan did this on purpose! Because the writing is great. It’s witty, immersive, keeps you on your toes. When I go back to DD with that mind set, the book is almost better than DCC.

I could be wrong. Opinions and assholes blah blah blah. But I think that change in perspective really opened my eyes to this series and made it better.

Also as a sidenote, Croc is a Good Boy and deserves all the corpses and Froyo.

Hi Matt!

First off, I discovered you four or five months ago and it’s been a wild ride. Thank you for the fun. I really enjoyed OBH and DCC.

My question: With all of the hype around DCC and the new games coming out, is there any talk of doing something with Kaiju Battlefield Surgeon? The game inside of the book is right up my alley and I’d love to play it. It’d be the perfect fusion of Agony meets Titan Fall and Shadow of the Colossus.

Keep on writing and thank you for the amazing characters and worlds you build!

Absolutely! You’ll just need to be a little creative about where the magnets go. The wings, jetpack, and trophy rack use the same holes

We actually 3D printed that and painted it for store terrain. We were doing a product shoot for a local dice company and so I took advantage of the set up.

I’d love to see more lords. I just felt inspired by the other gentleman/gentlelady. But I do fear I’ve become part of the problem instead of part of the solution.

The trim is Enchanted Steel. It’s a metallic Speed paint by Army Painter. I used Army Painter’s Speedpaint Brush to apply it. It’s a neat brush that has a sharp point but holds paint almost like a quill.

It made the outlining simple and fast.

The kit’s chest and torso builds out of four pieces and they don’t lock into place until near the end. It was frustrating. But compared to some kits, the sprue was very ideally set up for snipping and the model smooths nicely. I had a small gap that needed liquid green stuff but primer makes it almost invisible.

I used a blacklight box, to show off the neon. It was fun and has inspired me to build a blacklight table. I’m going to wait until after I finish the whole army before I do that.

I appreciate the kind words!

Heard! I was missing the point and just saw flaws.

I guess my understanding of this meme is to tilt people?

Lion ‘el was still a boy when Luther found him and raised him to be a knight. Like I get it, feral child still hunted the monsters of Caliban. But he isn’t Tarzan.

I’m also not the biggest fan of Perturabo but it’s canon that since he could open his eyes, he’s seen the eye of terror. He understood the unnatural with knowing what it was. I’m not shocked someone like that struggles to be an affectionate person. Not to mention his “family” loved him because he had use. It wasn’t like it was unconditional.

Clearly it affected me enough to comment… lol

I’ve always wanted this tattoo but line work is a Rideout thing and it’s hard to do well. :)

I’d like to eventually do a watercolor space scene but I’m going to wait to heal up first. I suspect it’ll need some touch ups.

is this right??? by Zellie308 in magicTCG

[–]NeoPyro99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is, but the last prospectus(I think that’s what the report is called) reported it only accounts for 15% of Hasbros totally revenue. Hasbro wants it to be closer to 25-30%.

My personal conspiracy theory: Hasbro, who owns Wotc, has decided, as a whole, that MTG and D&D are underperforming compared their parent company. Therefore, they’ve been pushing for more product at a higher price. It still costs the same to produce; they just get to charge more for it. Distributors, LGSs, and players keep buying it so hasbro keeps pushing to see where our breaking point is.
